The 27th is the Chinese New Year's Eve of the lunar calendar, for Sun Xibo, this day is no different from the weekday, he still sticks to the Yiwan Railway Padang Railway Station, busy to welcome and send.

Sun Xibo is a train operation monitor, which is a niche job unique to Yiwan Railway, with only 30 people in the country. As the train travels, they observe and judge the safety status of the train through their eyes and ears.

At 8:08 a.m., the station attendant's instructions came from the other end of the intercom: "8090, 4 lanes to pick up!" Sun Xibo repeated clearly and loudly: "8090, 4 lanes to pick up the car, understand!" Then he walked out of the monitoring room to pick up the car.

The train roared, Sun Xibo's gaze moved with the car, his eyes were like a scanner, closely monitoring whether there was a foreign body at the top of the train, whether the middle window was broken, whether there was a strange noise in the lower part, etc., and any clues that existed in the safety hazard were not spared. On that day, sun Xibo needed to repeat this kind of work 78 times.

The Yiwan Railway runs from Yichang in Hubei Province in the east to Wanzhou District in Chongqing in the west, with a total length of 377 kilometers, and is an important passage in and out of the Sichuan-Chongqing region. Badong Yesanguan Town is known as the "First Pass of Shu Road", and the Padang Railway Station, built on the cliff of the Wild Sanguan Grand Canyon, is built from the tunnel at both ends, which is the world's unique canyon railway station. The cliffs are high, the canyons are deep, the population is sparse, and whether the trains are running normally depends almost entirely on the close observation of monitors like Sun Xibo.

Sun Xibo was once a running conductor, familiar with the operation and structure of the train, and after serving as a train operation monitor, he has trained a pair of fire eyes. No matter day or night, where there is a safety hazard in the train, he must find it at the first time and report it in time.

During the Spring Festival, the Yiwan Railway passes through more than 100 trains every 24 hours, especially during the day, with one train in less than ten minutes during peak hours. In order to ensure that 100% of the post picks up the car, Sun Xibo strictly controls diet and drinking water to reduce the frequency of going to the toilet; in order to protect his vision and hearing, he hardly touches the computer, does not watch TV, and even minimizes the frequency of mobile phone use.

Sun Xibo said that the train passed by only a short moment, and if the safety hazards were not monitored because of letting down their vigilance, the consequences would be unimaginable. He cherishes every welcome and delivery, because every train safety monitoring has only one chance, and no slack is allowed.

"Monitoring train operation is a boring job, and monitors not only need to have excellent business skills, but also to withstand long-term loneliness." He Tielong, secretary of the party branch of The Badong Station of the Yichang Train Service Section, introduced that the train operation monitor was a single post, and during the shift, they most of the time heard the ticking of the alarm clock and the click of the wheel hitting the rail when the train passed.

"Being lonely for too long has forgotten loneliness, but at this time, I will always be particularly homesick." Sun Xibo said that in the process of ushering in the delivery, there will always be a moment when the heart will ripple and stir up the concern and longing for home. (End)
