author:Life Film Company

Hong Kong is the place with the largest gap between rich and poor in the world, which has led to many major kidnappings.

The most famous is probably the "thief king" Zhang Ziqiang in the 1990s, who committed a number of shocking kidnappings, including the kidnapping of Li Ka-shing's son.

Before Zhang Ziqiang, the most well-known kidnapping case on Hong Kong Island was the "Three Wolves Case", which occurred in 1959.

30 years later, the case was made into a movie and put on the screen, directed by Huang Tailai, starring Liang Jiahui, Zheng Zeshi and Xu Jinjiang, "The Strange Case of the Three Wolves".

On the evening of June 18, 1959, Huang Yingqiu, the son of a wealthy Hong Kong businessman Wong Sik-bin, drove a night snack with friends, and the world evaporated.

Huang Xibin, an oil merchant who made his fortune from buying and selling oil in World War II, asked his father to help his father run the family business, and disappeared at the age of 44.

Although Huang Yingqiu loves to play, he has never stayed home at night. The next day, the family went to the police station to report the case, and then the police summoned Huang's friend for questioning, but there was no result.

In the early morning of the 20th, two agents found Huang Yingqiu's private car at a pier. A large amount of glass was found inside the car, and a set of fingerprints of others was left on the glass.

On the 21st, Huang Xibin received a package containing huang's belongings and an ear. The family confirmed through a mole on the ear that the ear belonged to Huang Yingsuan.

The forensic doctor judged that the ear was cut off from the living person, and Huang Yingsu should still be alive.

In addition to these things, there is also a blackmail letter inside the package, demanding that the Huang family pay a ransom of 500,000 Hong Kong dollars, otherwise they will tear up the ticket, and the payment of the letter is "wild wolf".

The police came to the location where the money was presented in the letter to lay an ambush, but the kidnappers did not appear.

The police had to let the Huang family pay the ransom before making plans.

Unexpectedly, Huang Xibin refused to pay the ransom. In desperation, the police issued a 5,000 Hong Kong dollar hanging red wanted kidnapper, and Huang Yingqiu's wife also issued a 50,000 yuan hanging red.

But since then, he has not received any news from the kidnappers and Huang Yingsu.

A year and a half later, Huang Xibin was kidnapped like his son Huang Yingqiu.

On February 10, 1961, Huang Xibin was stopped by a private car on his way to work, and three men armed with guns, sharp blades and triangular files drove Huang Xibin's car to rob him.

After receiving the report, the police saw that it was the same as Huang Yingqiu's case, so they mobilized a large number of police forces in Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories to conduct a large-scale investigation, but they still could not find the Huang father and son.

The kidnappers imprisoned Huang Xibin in a small wooden box and told him that he had been executed because he had not paid the ransom and that Huang had wanted to escape.

Huang Xibin then wrote to his family to ask for a ransom, and finally Huang agreed to pay 1 million yuan. But only 500,000 can be given first, and the other 500,000 must be sold to sell some properties to settle.

There are three "wild wolves" in the case, Li Wei, the leading eldest brother, was born in Guangdong in 1930 and went to Hong Kong at the age of 18 to work in the company of Huang's father and son, with a monthly salary of 25 yuan.

After losing his job and struggling with cash, he started the idea of huang's father and son. Because the kidnapping needed a car, he sought help from his friend Ma Guangcan.

Born in 1926, Ma Guangcan's ancestral home is also From Guangdong Xinhui. Since the age of 19, he has followed his uncle on the set to make a living, and his life is still quite passable.

After learning of Li Wei's plan, Ma Guangcan, who also does not know how to drive, recommended another friend of his, Ni Bingjian.

More than a year after Huang Xibin's release, the case remained silent until a man named "Snake Zaiming" appeared.

Snake Boy Ming, whose original name was Deng Weiming, was also one of the kidnappers, but his status was not as high as that of the three wolves, and he belonged to the errand-running type.

After the robbery, Deng Weiming suddenly dressed brightly, and the fellow villagers suspected that he was related to the robbery and blackmailed him. Deng Weiming thought he knew about the kidnapping and could only give in.

However, the insatiable greed of his fellow villagers made Deng Weiming intolerable, so in 1961, together with Li Wei and others, he was exterminated.

Because Deng Weiming himself received the least amount of stolen money and was extorted, he asked the three wolves for more stolen money, but was refused.

The Three Wolves felt that it was very risky to leave Deng Weiming behind, and decided to kill him. However, Deng Weiming knew in advance, so he went to the police station to turn himself in and turned into a tainted witness to confess the Three Wolves case.

(It is rumored that in this process, there is a practice of severe torture to extract a confession, but there is no way to verify it)

The trial process in this case was also full of twists and turns.

The three wolves all said that they only participated in the kidnapping and did not know about Huang Yingqiu's death. At the same time, it was also revealed that he had been threatened, intimidated and beaten by the police. The warning confession is full of typos and is suspected of involuntary confession.

When Huang Xibin testified in court, he first recounted his abduction and pointed out that Li Wei was a distant relative of his and one of his captors.

He pointed out that the three were wearing wolf masks and said that Huang Hadeqiu had been executed by them. Huang Xibin, who was over the age of flower armor, burst into tears in the courtroom, saying that he still had not forgotten the grief caused by the death of his son.

When defense lawyers asked him to identify Huang's skull, he adamantly refused. During the period, it was not explained why the ransom of 500,000 yuan was refused in the first place.

Ni Bingjian's reaction was the greatest, and he constantly told reporters in court that he was wronged;

And Li Wei was silent, tears in his eyes;

"The Strange Case of the Three Wolves" is different from the previous strange case films, it is not a story that completely blames criminals, but has a tragic color.

The film portrays the Huang father and son as a bitter and mean rich man, while the three wolves are poor social underclassmen.

Combined with the wonderful interpretation of Leung Ka Fai and others, it will make people feel a little pity for the three kidnappers. In fact, this is a tragic film dressed in the cloak of the Three Wolves case and depicting the low-level characters of society.
