Seeds are tender
It is believed that the longer the emerald is buried in the ground, the older the species will be. This statement is actually relatively one-sided. So what is the main difference between a piece of jadeite that is old or tender? Strictly speaking, the main difference between jadeite seed aging and seed tenderness is the "degree of compactness".
In fact, to put it simply and popularly, the older the species of jadeite, the smaller the particles of jadeite, and the more tightly integrated the internal structure, indicating that the older its mineralization year. In general, the older the jadeite, the more delicate the feel and the higher the market value. On the contrary, the more tender the jadeite species, the thicker the particles of the jadeite, the looser the internal structure, and the shorter the mineralization year.
How to distinguish the seed age and tenderness of jadeite? We can use instruments or we can discern them with the naked eye. If we look at it with a 500x magnifier, we can clearly feel the difference between the two. Under 500 times magnification, the old jadeite is almost invisible due to its delicate flesh, and there is almost no gap between the particles, which is smooth and visible to the naked eye.
The appearance of the roughness of the tender jadeite under 500 times magnification is disorganized. The particles are not only rough, but also very disordered, and the grooves on their surfaces are clearly visible.
Although the observation of the instrument is very intuitive and scientific, it is very inconvenient, after all, we can't always carry a 500x magnifier. Therefore, it is necessary to continuously accumulate excellent jadeite knowledge, cultivate a pair of fire eyes and golden eyes, and learn to distinguish the old and tender seeds of jadeite through the naked eye.
With the naked eye, the most direct manifestation of the old and tender is the luster of the jadeite surface, the old jadeite because the internal particle crystals are tightly combined, the order is neat, thereby greatly improving the refractive index of the jadeite surface, forming a rigid (under the illumination of the outside light, people feel cold and hard), light (the surface looks like the luster of fiberglass),
