Sarah Zhai
Dr. Sarah Zhai Strauss (China), a soprano singer in Germany, was recently invited to give lectures at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music and the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music in Hangzhou, where she successfully held two unique vocal master classes.
Dr. Sarah Zhai, formerly known as Zhai Peng, is currently the Vice President and Professor of the Hollywood Film Academy, the Principal Soprano and International Artistic Director of the Novaria Opera House in Spain, the Resident Artist of the Catalan Music Palace, a World Cultural Heritage Site, and a contracted singer and senior artistic consultant of the Chinese Channel at the Freiburg Opera House, Hamburg Opera House, Wiesbaden and other opera houses in Germany.
She studied at the State University of Music freiburg, hamburg university of music and drama, and the University of Music and Drama in Leipzig, where she obtained a master's degree in vocal performance, a diploma as a soloist, and a master's degree, Mesterkonzertexamen (Doctorate of Musical Arts) and a doctorate.
Sarah Zhai is the first Chinese to achieve both of these top academic qualifications, has won seven consecutive international awards in a year, has collaborated with international music masters such as Domingo, Cabaye, Hisaishi Jean and is one of the few outstanding Chinese musicians active in the international arena today.

Internationally renowned soprano Sarah Zhai Strauss was invited by the Vocal Opera Department of Xinghai Conservatory of Music to successfully hold a vocal master class.
After learning that Dr. Zhai would be lecturing at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music and seeing her wonderful singing video in the promotional materials, the students of the Department of Vocal Music crowded into the classroom early in the morning to listen to the lessons, and the rehearsal building venue that was originally planned could not sit down, so they had to temporarily change to another rehearsal hall that could accommodate hundreds of people.
Dr. Zhai first thanked Professor Yang Yan for his invitation and Professor Tao Ying's hosting, and apologized for his bad cold due to the rushing of the journey and the change in temperature difference.
The master class lasted for three hours, and Dr. Zhai patiently and meticulously handled two works for each student who sang on stage, from oratorio to art songs and Western operas, from Handel to Puccini, and the easy-to-understand explanations and immediate methods benefited the teachers and students.
Teacher Chen Bozheng said that although Dr. Zhai suffered from a serious cold, Fan Sing's voice was still very transparent, penetrating, and the teaching method was also unique, and he looked forward to Dr. Zhai coming to Guangzhou and Xinghai again to hold concerts and participate in the direction of opera.
Dr. Zhai also gave recognition and high praise to the teaching of the teachers of Xinghai Conservatory of Music and the singing level of the students.

The College selected several students who had just won the competition to participate in the master class, and Dr. Zhai handled the art songs, works of the Italian Belcanto period and operetta fragments very carefully, and each student who came to the stage benefited a lot, both in terms of singing skills and breathing, and in terms of language and performance.
Dr. Zhai gave a student a humorous language demonstration coupled with her body language as a dance professional, which made her perform the different characters in the play more in place, which made the audience refreshed.
A teacher from a foreign school who came to listen to the lectures said that the class time was very early and a little sleepy, but listening to Dr. Zhai's class was getting more and more energetic, which was indeed wonderful.

Teacher Wang Xiaotian said that the college often invites experts from home and abroad to give lectures, but there are not many people like Professor Zhai who are so young and so brilliant in singing and teaching, it is a great honor to invite Professor Zhai to come to our institute to give lectures, and I hope that in the future, I will have the opportunity to invite Professor Zhai to hold concerts again.
Dr. Zhai said that she likes Zhejiang Conservatory of Music very much, it is very beautiful and atmospheric, and the students' singing level is also good, and she hopes to have the opportunity to help more students in the future.
