This book is the first set of popular science books in China to introduce the whole process of Chang'e lunar exploration for children since Chang'e 5 returned to the lunar soil. According to the trilogy timeline of "The Origin and Development of the Moon - China's Chang'e Lunar Exploration Project - Building a Lunar Base", the whole book allows children to clearly and comprehensively clarify the past, present and future of the moon; guides children to start from a comprehensive understanding of the moon and plant a seed of exploration of the starry sky in their hearts.

The moon is the "springboard" for mankind to go to deep space, and the complete success of the Chang'e-5 mission marks the successful conclusion of the three-step plan of China's lunar exploration project of "circling, falling and returning". The Four Centers of the 208 Institute of the Second Academy of Aerospace Science and Industry of China, "Military Digest and Science Teenager" and Motie Planet jointly planned the "Take Me to the Moon" aerospace science picture book series. The original team of the "March into Space" Chinese Manned SpaceFlight Science Picture Book Series lasted two years of meticulous compilation and repeated polishing, and invited a number of experts in the fields of lunar exploration engineering, education and science popularization to conduct multiple professional reviews, and finally created a "lunar picture book trilogy" with beautiful pictures, rigorous science and detailed content.

The whole book presents hard-core science through Chinese style, and in the way of telling, it unfolds in a friendly and cute first-person language, and the storyline is tortuous, which not only tells children stories, but also lets children learn knowledge. Exquisite painting integrates science with art, and uses vast large-scale scene composition to bring children an immersive reading experience and stimulate children's imagination of the universe more. From Chang'e flying, mid-autumn moon viewing, Qiantang tide watching, to more Chinese stories related to the moon, let children approach the moon from all aspects of life and understand the moon.

According to the relevant person in charge of the 208 Institute, before that, the "Journey to Space" Chinese Manned Space Science Picture Book Series ("I want to go to space", "The spaceship has taken off", "Hello!) organized and approved by the Institute for the first time. Space Station"), which has won many awards such as the 2019 Laurel Book, the 2019 National Excellent Popular Science Works, and the 2019 Influential Picture Book, the original team has once again hit hard and will bring children a unique journey to the moon.
