Last week colleagues brought a lot of nuts to share with everyone, Xiaobian found that one of the macadamias is more popular with colleagues, it is easier to peel, with a steel sheet lightly pry can get a complete milky white nut, the taste is delicate and fragrant. This time we may wish to take a look at the nutrition of this macadamia nut, whether there is anything special.
Macadamia nuts also have a common name, perhaps many friends have heard, in the plant wisdom network mentioned, macadamia nuts common name macadamia nuts, native to the southeast of Australia tropical rainforest, is now in China's Yunnan Province, Taiwan Province, Guangdong Province, Hainan Province have been cultivated. As for its nutritional value, the "Research Progress on Nutritional Characteristics and Nutritional Diagnosis of Macadamia Nuts" published by the South Asian Tropical Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences mentions that the nutritional components of macadamia nuts include fat, protein, carbohydrates, calcium, phosphorus and iron, vitamins B1, B2 and so on. The fat content is very high, and the content of unsaturated fatty acids is also very high. How many are there, and do they have some advantages over other nuts?
In the "Analysis of Fat Content and Fatty Acid Composition in Nuts" published in the Journal of Food Safety and Quality Inspection, the fat content and fatty acid composition of 16 kinds of nuts such as almonds, almonds, pecans, paper walnuts, pecans, northeast hazelnuts, melon seeds, peanuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts and cashew nuts were carefully detected and analyzed. It was found that the highest fat content was pecans, reaching about 71.3g/100g, followed by macadamia nuts, reaching about 67.8g/100g. In addition, for the determination of unsaturated fatty acid content, the article pointed out that the unsaturated fatty acids of macadamia nuts accounted for 81.19% of the total fat, ranking 14th among the 16 kinds of nuts this time, and the highest proportion of content was Northeast hazelnuts, reaching 95.47%. In this way, although the proportion of macadamia nuts in fat content is high, the proportion of unsaturated fatty acids in their fat does not seem to be very high among these common nuts. Therefore, the composition of unsaturated fatty acids alone may not show obvious advantages.
Of course, we do not rule out that macadamias may have advantages in other nutrients, if you have any better findings, you can always leave us a message. If you can benefit from our articles, remember to pay attention to us!
