Yunyang County's "Gaoyang Pinghu" ushered in the first catch.

Since the launch of the fourth stage of the "2018 River Guardian" large-scale public welfare environmental protection action series of activities jointly launched by Chongqing Morning News and Alibaba Daily Positive Energy- "Protecting water and rejuvenating - controlling water and protecting water, guarding the beauty of the hometown river", the upstream news Chongqing Morning News reporter has not only visited and excavated a series of deeds of Chongqing's clean-up sanitation workers, but also come to those waters that have experienced ecological crises and returned to the normal ecological environment to explore their river stories.

On July 1, the implementation of the Ministry of Agriculture's adjustment and extension of the fishing ban period, Yunyang County's "Gaoyang Ping Lake" ushered in the first catch, local fishermen greeted the dawn on the river back and forth netting, the magnificent lake presented a floating scene of "sea fishing and early return", "Xiaguang Fishing Shadow" reflected a magnificent ecological "secular style painting".

Located on the banks of the Pengxi River, a first-class tributary of the Yangtze River, Gaoyang Town, Yunyang County, was once a traditional fishing ground in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, rich in aquatic products such as yellow lattice and big-headed silver carp. After the Three Gorges water storage is formed, the rivers and bays and backwaters here are dense, the natural climate is warm as spring, forming a wetland and a landscape of Qiandao Lake, and the number of fish and birds is increasing, and local fishermen can achieve all-weather fishing during the opening of fishing by implementing strict conservation and protection measures.

It is worth mentioning that in recent years, a large number of silver fish have emerged in the Pinghu River in Gaoyang, and fishermen can catch hundreds of catties a day at the peak, which has aroused widespread concern among fishery administration, water conservancy and environmental protection experts. It is reported that the silver fish is one of the rare fish species in the "four big" fish bred by the Yangtze River, which is comparable to knifefish, fat head, porpoise and peach blossom jellyfish, and its reproduction, parade and growth rules are very special, and its nutritional value is extremely rich. Silverfish and knifefish used to be common in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and were rare even upstream even before the Three Gorges Project was built. With lake pollution and overfishing, Yangtze River knifefish and silverfish have been called endangered by experts.

Silver fish appear in large quantities in the "Gaoyang Lake" in the Three Gorges reservoir area, but they are a new thing after the water is stored. According to local fishermen, it first appeared during the 2012 flood season, when it was short-lived and the fishing people felt very strange. Subsequently, the annual flood season increased, prompting fishermen to catch fish. The salvaged silver fish is dried into dried fish, selling for 80 yuan per kilogram, which is very popular in the market. However, this fish appears once a year during the early flood season in May and June, and the best time to catch it is only 3-5 days, and then it disappears.

However, it is such a traditional fishing farm of the Three Gorges that has encountered many ecological crises in the early stage of storing water into a lake: first, a large number of cage culture "circle water" surrounds the lake, which not only causes water pollution, but even affects the smooth flow of waterways; second, the upstream chemical enterprises are sewage indiscriminately, and the water body shows "ink color" in spring; the third is that the tributaries, fork river duckweed, and water hyacinth grow wildly, and once formed a flooding state.

In order to maintain a river with clear water and strengthen the green mountains on both sides of the river, the government designated Gaoyang Ping Lake as a "natural wetland ecological reserve in the Xiaojiang River Basin" and began a six-year comprehensive treatment. The first is to unconditionally dismantle all cage culture and restore the integrity and tranquility of the river; secondly, to cooperate with Kaizhou District to close all chemical enterprises, purify domestic sewage, and let the upstream assume responsibility; and finally, to completely eradicate weeds, duckweed, and water hyacinth, clean the natural environment on both sides of the strait, and cut off the pollution sources that erode the water body. With persistent ecological restoration and wetland protection, traditional fisheries exude new vitality, show new charm and highlight growth poles. Fishing is held every summer, and it is also a scene of the Three Gorges frequented by diners and tourists.
