The mysterious Wei Wugong: Did he "Zuo Zhou Pingrong" have merit? Even substituted King Li of Zhou as the Son of Heaven? From this point of view, of course, Duke Wu of Wei could not have made a contribution to the "Zuo Zhou Pingrong" in the Western Zhou Dynasty, but it is very likely that he became the "GongBohe" Dai Li King as the Son of Heaven!

author:I want to talk about history and the present

Duke Wu of Wei (衛武公), courtesy name He ,was the monarch of the State of Wei and held a high status in traditional Confucian texts.

The "Chinese Chu Language" records that when Wei Wugong was ninety-five years old, he also warned the people of the country, saying: "From the secretaries to the doctors and scholars, as long as you are in the middle of the dynasty, do not abandon my old age, you must respectfully engage in it, and sooner or later help warn me." Even if you hear one or two words of advice, you must remember, convey them to me, and discipline me. Therefore, Wei Wugong had the rules of warriors on the car, the code of law in the imperial court, the precepts of the reciting officers next to several cases, the proverbs of the close attendants in the dormitories, the guidance of the history of handling government affairs, and the recitation of poems by musicians on a daily basis. Wei Wugong also kept reflecting, writing the poem "suppressed" to warn himself. After the death of Duke Wu of Wei, people called him Rui Shengwu Gong.

The "Zuo Biography" records that in 544 BC, Ji Zha, the prince of the State of Wu, visited the State of Lu and asked to see Zhou Le. When the musician sang "Shao Feng", "Huang Feng", "Wei Feng", Ji Zha involuntarily exclaimed: "Beautiful, yuan! Worried and not sleepy also. I heard that Uncle Wei Kang and Wu Gongzhi were like this, is it their "Wei Feng"? ”

In the eyes of the Chu people, Wei Wugong can be called "Rui Sheng"; in the eyes of the Wu people, Wei Wugong is "beautiful and profound", which shows how tall Wei Wugong was in the minds of the scholars in the Spring and Autumn Period!

However, in the famous "Records of History", the image of Wei Wugong seems extremely ordinary: "Forty-two years, Marquis Gong." Crown Prince Gongbo Yu was made king. Gong Bo and those who were favored by Hou Hou (釐侯) and gave more bribes; and with their bribes, they attacked Gong Bo on the tomb, and Gong Bo committed suicide by entering Hou Xian (Yin Yan, referring to the tomb road). The Wei people were buried next to the Marquis of Wei, and Lihe was made the Marquis of Wei, for the Duke of Wu. ”

The Duke of WeiWu, who can be called "Rui Sheng", was actually usurpered the throne after the emperor! This record of Tai Shi Gong is simply subversive to the image of Wei Wugong!

Not only that, but the next record in the "Records of History" is even more suspicious: "The Duke of Wu is on the throne, the virtue of Uncle Xiu Kang, and the people are collected." In the forty-second year, Inuyasha killed King You of Zhou, and Duke Wu sent his troops to Zuo Zhou Pingrong, and with great merit, King Zhou Ping ordered Duke Wu to be a duke. Fifty-five years, died. ”

According to the "Records of History", in 813 BC (the fifteenth year of King Xuan of Zhou), Duke WeiWu usurped the throne as a king; during the forty-second year of his reign, Inu Rong destroyed Western Zhou, and The Duke of Weiwu was "Zuo Zhou PingRong" (佐周平戎), "very meritorious", and was made a duke by King Zhou Ping. The Inuyasha were allies of the Pingwang regime, and attacking inuyasha was an enemy of the Pingwang regime, so how could the Zhou Ping King regard the act of "Pingrong" by Duke Weiwu as a credit and make him a "Gong"?

It's not just speculation.

Later, when the Eastern Zhou royal family mentioned the matter of moving east, it said that "I moved east, Jin and Zheng are yi", without mentioning Wei Guo at all, which confirmed that the so-called "Zuo Zhou" of Wei Wugong was not true. If Duke Wei Wu really had the act of "Zuo Zhou PingRong", then he would also help King Zhou You, not King Zhou Ping.

But the question is, can Wei Wugong really "Zuo Zhou Pingrong"?

Geographically, Weiguo lived in the east of the Luoyang Plain. Starting from Weiguo, crossing the famous "Hangu Valley" through the Luoyang Plain and entering the Weihe Plain takes about 40 to 60 days. (Li Feng, "The Demise of the Western Zhou: The Geographical and Political Crisis of the Early Chinese State") The destruction of the Western Zhou dynasty was a sudden event. After such a long time of wading through mountains and rivers, when Wei Wugong led his army to the Weihe Plain, the yellow broccoli was cold, how could he have "Zuo Zhou Pingrong" meritorious service?

The records of the "Records of History" undoubtedly shrouded a thick layer of mystery on the "Rui Sheng" Wu Gong.

Saying that Wei Wugong "Zuo Zhou PingRong" has made people suspect that Dou has been reborn. However, another record in the historical data makes Wei Wugong even more mysterious.

When commenting on the "republican rule" of the Western Zhou Dynasty, the "History of Justice" quotes the "Lu Lianzi" Yun: "Weizhou Gongcheng County this week Gongbo's kingdom is also." The common name is harmonious, the good deeds are benevolent, and the princes are virtuous. The king of Zhou Li has no way, the people of the country are in difficulty, the king is running to Yu Yan, and the princes are serving and doing the things of the son of heaven, which is called the first year of the 'republic'. In the fourteenth year, King Li died in Yan, and Gongbo made the princes of Gongbo make Prince Jing the Prince of Xuan, and Gongbo returned to Weiye. ”

According to the "Lu Lianzi", the "republican ruling" after the "rebellion of the people" was not the joint ruling of the summons and the Duke of Tuesday, but the princes elected the Gongbo and "performed the affairs of the Heavenly Son". And the "GongBohe" who overthrew King Li of Zhou and then established himself as king turned out to be a Defender of the Country, and his name was "He"! Since Gongbo was enshrined as king by the princes, of course, it was impossible for him to be a different surname, and he should be surnamed Ji. The name of the Weiguo people is Ji He, who else but Wei Wugong!

This is so surprising - Duke Wu of Wei actually usurped the throne of King Li of Zhou after the "rebellion of the people"?!

However, slowly.

According to the research of modern academic circles, the figure of "Gong Bohe" first appeared on the bronze ware of the first year of Li Wang (such as the "Inscription of the First Year Master"). This shows that when King Li of Zhou first ascended the throne, "Gong Bohe" had already entered the Zhou royal family as an official. Now that he had entered the DPRK as an official, the "Gongbohe" had already reached adulthood at this time, and was at least twenty years old. In 841 BC, the "Rebellion of the People" broke out, and "Gongbohe" usurped the throne, when he was about sixty years old. "Gong Bohe" usurped the throne as king when he was more than sixty years old, and ruled for fourteen years, about seventy-four years old. The "History of wei shijia" records that Duke Wu of Wei usurped the throne in 813 BC and died in 758 BC. That is to say, after Duke Weiwu ceded the throne in 826 BC, he waited until the death of his more advanced father, Marquis Wei, in 813 BC, killed his brother Gong Boyu, and eventually inherited the throne of Weiguo; it was not until 758 BC that Duke Weiwu died, and he was at least one hundred and forty years old at this time! If when the Western Zhou Dynasty fell, he still "Zuo Zhou Pingrong", then Wei Wugong not only lived a long life, but also led his troops to fight on the battlefield after he was a hundred years old- Wei Wugong True God Man also!

An old birthday star in his 140s has such a brilliant and colorful life, but it is almost not recorded in the history books, which makes people add a sense of mystery.

In any case, if "Gong Bohe" is Wei Wugong, then many modern historians will have to fight with Taishi Gong more than 2,000 years ago: is Wei Wugong not "Gong Bohe", or is the record of the "History of Wei Shijia" a nonsense?

The mysterious Wei Wugong: Did he "Zuo Zhou Pingrong" have merit? Even substituted King Li of Zhou as the Son of Heaven? From this point of view, of course, Duke Wu of Wei could not have made a contribution to the "Zuo Zhou Pingrong" in the Western Zhou Dynasty, but it is very likely that he became the "GongBohe" Dai Li King as the Son of Heaven!

In this regard, the choice of most people in the ancients was to believe in Taishi Gong more: "Wu Gongzhi was established after the death of Gong Bo, and his age was not the same, and the chronology was the same, and the Ming "Chronicle" and "Lu Lianzi" were not also. (See History of Justice))

However, in modern times, historians often think that it is too historically wrong.

First of all, in 660 BC, the Wei kingdom was once destroyed by the Di people, and even the king Wei Yigong was killed by the Di people, and it is conceivable that the Wei state history books can still be preserved. Therefore, for the historical materials of the Wei Dynasty, Tai Shi Gong can see very little.

Secondly, although there are few records about Wei Wugong in the history books, the name of Wei Wugong is so loud that he does not only appear in the history books. The Mao Shi prefaces the Book of Poetry, Daya, and Says: "The "Ordination", the Duke of Weiwu stabbed King Li, also with self-vigilance. The legend of "Mao Shi" was passed down by Mao Heng and Mao Chang of the Lu people in the Warring States period, and their preface said that "Wei Wu Gong stabbed King Li", which proves that Wei Wu Duke had become the monarch of the state during the time of King Zhou Li, and he was a person of the same era as King Zhou Li.

Third, the "Mao Poems" wrote a preface to the "Book of Poetry , Ou Feng , Bai Zhou": ""Bai Zhou" (柏舟), Gong Jiang swore his own oath. Wei Shizi Gongbo died early, his wife kept righteousness, his parents wanted to take it and marry him, and he swore a vow, pretending to be a poem to extinguish it. The preface to the Mao Poem says that "Wei Shizi Gongbo died early", which is different from the "History" that "Wei Wugong forced his brother to commit suicide". There is a sentence in the "Bai Zhou" that "髧 (音但) Pi Two Hips", and the "Biography of Mao Shi" explains the cloud: "The appearance of the two hips." Hipsters, hair to the eyebrows, children's parents' ornaments. "In ancient times, when the father died, he was off the left side, and when the mother died, he was off the right side. When Gong Boyu died, both of them existed, showing that his parents were still there. This means that Gong Boyu died young, not by Wei Wugong as recorded in the Records of History. ("Republican Administration" Khao So, Tong Jiaoying)

Considering the "Mao Poems", modern historians believe that the records of the "History of the Wei Shijia" are too wrong and not credible.

It is precisely because Duke Wei Wu is "good at doing benevolence and righteousness, and the princes are virtuous", that Duke Wei Wu will be promoted to be king after the "rebellion of the people" and "do the things of heaven and heaven". After the death of King Li of Zhou, Duke Wu of Wei did not covet the throne, took the initiative to give way to Ji Jing, and returned to Wei Guo to claim the throne, "at the head of Gongshan". In turn, he ruled the world and retired to be at ease, so Wei Wugong would be respected by the people of the world and respected as "Rui Sheng"!

Such a mysterious image of Wei Wugong, can you accept it?
