However, starting next month, the Shanghai One-Legged Opera Art Heritage Center (Shanghai People's Burlesque Troupe) will be stationed in the Xiqu Tea House on the second floor of the Shanghai Great World Performing Arts Night Market, and will perform every day from the National Day. This one, called "Happy Tonight Music Evening", is the only Shanghai one-legged opera resident performance in Shanghai.

This show, like other performances at the Great World Night Market, is an independent ticketing model. Coinciding with the "Big World Performing Arts Night Market" from September 18 this year, there are performances in different spaces every night, and the audience only needs to use the performance ticket to enter the big world and experience activities such as the food cultural and creative market and the open big stage music scene. Deputy head of the group Cao Xiong introduced that the big world and the one-legged play are both cultural representatives of Shanghai, and this time the cooperation with the big world can be said to be a one-shot agreement.

At the press conference, Chen Liang and Pan Qianwei came to an impromptu performance on the spot, short and fierce and funny and joyful. From Pan's avant-garde "cotton wool pants" paragraph to the ticket price of the big world of acting, the jokes are all newly edited paragraphs. "Many people say that we Shanghai burlesque actors don't act funny, they all go to sell cordyceps and sell mahogany, but in fact, our troupe has more than 300 performances a year. Why don't the audience know it, probably because the publicity is not in place. Well now, we're here every day. During the joke, the two did not forget to remind everyone to come to the theater to watch the performance.

Opening a resident performance, the program should be performed often and new, Chen Liang said, which also puts forward new requirements for them, and they must constantly carry out new creations. To this end, he and Pan Qianwei created many new works for the performance of this night market, of course, there are also some traditional works. "The traditional one-legged play repertoire is inexhaustible, and some joke baggage may not be suitable for the current era, but its means and technology are still effective, we can bottle new wine in old bottles, and innovate in the combination of traditional music and the elements of the times."

Pan Qianwei also feels that the resident performances have put forward a new test for their performance creation ability, and they have to rotate some programs every two weeks, which is a new challenge to program creation and traditional inheritance. "But as our teacher Wang Rugang said, the relationship between actors and theater is the relationship between farmers and land, and with such a permanent stage, we can cultivate for a long time and constantly harvest new content and audiences."
