Xu Xilin (徐西麟), also spelled Bosun (伯荪), nicknamed Guang hanzi , was a native of Dongpu Town, Shanyin, Shaoxing, Zhejiang.
Xu Xilin was the son of Xu Fengming, an official of Shanyin County. In 1905, he sought to establish the Datong Academy in Shaoxing, in addition to ordinary subjects, especially gymnastics, martial arts, in order to accumulate strength. Xu Xilin was promoted by Enming and became a close associate of Enming. In 1906, he took the donor officer as a Taoist and aimed to hold a heavy army. He went to Anhui to serve as the deputy general office of the Armed Forces School and the police department; in 1907, he was renamed the supervision of the Army Primary School and the inspector of the Patrol Police Academy.
In 1907, on July 6, the pawns launched the Anqing Uprising, and on the occasion of the graduation ceremony of the Patrol Police Academy, they shot and killed Inspector Enming of Anhui Province, and fought fiercely with the Qing army for 4 hours, and finally because the lone army was helpless and outnumbered, the pawn was arrested and captured.

"I, the great leader of the revolutionary party and the donor, came to Anqing specifically for the full line. Being an official is a fake, leaving people defenseless. The Manchus abused our Han Chinese for nearly three hundred years. Judging by its superficial constitution, but if it wants to firmly envelop the hearts and minds of the people in the world, the real centralized power can expand its authoritarian power. The Manchus delusionally wanted to establish a constitution, so the Han could not revolutionize. As everyone knows, the degree of Chinese is urgent in independence. In my opinion, the Manchu constitution can never be done; the Han revolution is something that everyone can do. If the centralization of power is used as a constitution, the faster the constitution is established, the faster the revolution will be. I only hold the revolutionary aim, and once I take advantage of the time to kill all the Manchus who harmed China and the traitors who helped the Manchus to abuse, the natural Han people will be strong and prosperous, and it will not be too late to try to establish a constitution.
I have been waiting for more than ten years, and today I have reached my goal. Ben intended to kill Enming, and then kill Duanfang, Tieliang, and Liangbi to avenge the Han people; but after killing Enming, he was captured, and it was difficult to be satisfied. This move was originally intended to be delayed, but because the recent investigation of the revolutionary party was very strict, he also accused me of detaining the leader of the revolutionary party in person, fearing that he would be harmed, so he first avenged his fellow party and wanted to stab him to death in front of the public. As long as he is killed, in addition to the civil and military officials, he is not afraid of not subordinating to the doctrine of my presidency. Then go straight down to Nanjing, you can break through the bamboo. From now on, I can show justice to the world, which is the thing I am most proud of.
Er, who has repeatedly said that the two of my close friends have now been obtained together, neither of them will give up their names, and it is a pity that they will not be immortalized with my great name in the future. The same is true, but both are learned and well known in Japan. As I have heard, the person who shot the dead inside the ordnance station was Chen Boping, and this person was really my good friend. I am at odds with Sun Wen's will, and he is not worthy of my assassination. I know that I will die, but I can take pen and ink, and I will make my purpose important, and I will write a few words in person, so that the world and the future generations will know my name, and it is a great honor!
In the early hours of tomorrow morning, he was executed by Ling Chi, first cutting Xu Xilin's heart, offering a full of human Enming, and then beheading. When Xu Xilin was about to be executed, his look was unchanged, he had no fear, and his body was buried with Chen Boping and Ma Zonghan at the southern foot of the Lonely Mountain on the west lake of Hangzhou, which was the tomb of the three martyrs.

When Enming was carried out, he shouted, "Quickly bring the chaotic party to justice on the spot." So Feng Xu ordered everyone to gather together in Fuyuan. They gathered in the east hall behind the lobby, overheard the crying in the upper room, and saw the president of Tongren Hospital, the American Dai Shihuan, and a group of people carrying bags hurriedly walking out, everyone went up to inquire about the news, Dai said, "No use, six or seven shots in the body, especially two bullets in the right ear and waist can not be treated." After a while, the voices began to be chaotic again, and several soldiers tied Xu Xilin and escorted him. He saw the clan and said, "Is the Grand Marshal Safe?" Feng Xu stomped his feet and said, "Beast, how kindly the Grand Marshal treated you, and now that you have been shot and killed, do you dare to ask Ann?" Xu Xilin smiled and said, "Asking Grand Marshal Ann is also a private friendship." Then he said, "Shooting Enming, this is justice."
Above the court, in the face of the trial, Xu Xilin was righteous and stern, angrily denouncing the Qing court dictatorship for misleading the country. The Qing official questioned Xu Xilin: Enming treats you not thinly, why did you assassinate him? Xu Xilin said sharply: "Treat me with kindness, and treat me privately; I kill grace, and the public of the world will also be." The Qing official also asked: Why didn't Ru often kill Enming in the middle of the office. Xu Xilin said: "In the middle of the office, the private room is also; the school, the commons are also." When a great husband does things, he must make it clear to all, and he must be sneaky. So he wrote a confession, willing one person to take responsibility and not implicate the students
If you evaluate Xu Xilin, you definitely deserve the title of martyr. After all, the assassination of Enming was only one thing in his entire revolutionary career.
As for Enming being a good man and a bad person, the evaluation in life and the evaluation in history are two different perspectives, and when viewed in history, he was on the side of the reactionary feudal rulers to suppress the revolution, which was reactionary.
