On August 17, the "Xiangyanghong 51" research vessel completed its reconstruction and was delivered to the Beihai Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Laoshan District today.
With a displacement of 1200 tons, the ship mainly performs meteorological observation, hydrological survey, geological and geophysical survey and other tasks, supports 1000-meter ROV operations and large-scale underwater towing towing surveys.
The ship was built in December 1972 under the names "China Coast Guard 1111", "China Maritime Supervision 11", "Dawn 05", etc. The reconstruction project began in June 2019, the project "to build instead of repair", on the basis of retaining the original ship part of the steel structure and equipment to carry out major renovation construction, to meet the needs of marine resources survey.
