Qu Yuan's original name was Ping,Ziyuan (字原), also known as Zhengze (正則), zi lingjun (字靈均), and claimed to be a descendant of one of the Five Emperors of the Ancients.
Qu Yuan's knowledge was very profound, advocating the manifestation of the Fa, the empowerment of the wise, the east of the Qi state, the west against the Qin. Began to assist King Huai of Chu, and worked as a left disciple and a three-lu doctor. According to the Records of the Five Emperors, Emperor Shun was also a descendant of Emperor Shun. In this way, Qu Yuan and Emperor Shun had the same ancestor. Qu Yuan, like all Chu people, had a strong reverence complex.
At that time, the Chu state was in the midst of an eventful autumn. In Qu Yuan's mind, Emperor Shun was the most virtuous ancient emperor. He was very eager for the political environment of the "YaoTian Shun Day" in the ancient period, greatly admired the political qualities of Emperor Shun's ability to be virtuous, and very much hoped to realize the powerful political ideals of the Chu State. However, in the later period of King Huai of Chu, the credit power ministers Zilan, Jin Shang, and others attacked the imperial court Zhongliang, and Qu Yuan was also deposed from his post. After that, the State of Chu was defeated by qin, Qi and other states, and King Huai of Chu was detained in the State of Qin and finally died in the State of Qin. All this dealt a particularly heavy blow to Qu Yuan, and his heart was filled with great pain and helplessness. In this case, Qu Yuan thought of Emperor Shun. During his resignation, Qu Yuan wrote the famous passage "Leaving the Troubles" throughout the ages. In his poems, he repeatedly expressed his concern for the future and fate of the Chu state, and wanted to "march south of Jiyuan and Xiang, and then repeat the Chinese and make statements", hoping that the king of the Chu state would emulate Emperor Shun, follow the advice of ruliu, and make the Chu state strong again. And the harsh reality is the diametrically opposed to his hopes and ideals. By the time of King Xiang of Qing, not only could he not return to the imperial court, but the officials were reinstated, but instead he was exiled and wandered in the Yuanxiang Valley for a long time.
So, did Qu Yuan ever go to Ningyuan Nine Doubts Mountain? Is it, as he is said to be in "Leaving the Troubles", "to repeat the rhetoric"? Many experts and scholars believe that Qu Yuan has never been to Ningyuan Jiuqi Mountain. There are also many experts and scholars who believe that Qu Yuan must have been to Ningyuan Nine Doubts Mountain. During Qu Yuan's dismissal, Qu Yuan had a strong desire to "make a statement on the basis of his re-enactment", and because his movement was restricted, it was impossible to go to Ningyuan Jiuqi Mountain to pay homage to Emperor Shun's mausoleum. However, after he exiled Yuanxiang, he wandered in this area for more than ten years. The imperial court did not impose specific restrictions on his actions here, only stipulating that he could not return to Jiangbei and could not return to the capital of the Chu state, Yiyin. With Qu Yuan's personality and his feelings of worry about the country and the people at that time, he would definitely look for opportunities but his own desire to "repeat the flowers" was expressed. If this is the case, Qu Yuan is the first literati to go to Ningyuan Nine Doubts Mountain to worship Shun.
