Edison's Real Life (I)

author:I love orange juice

Edison, the king of invention, has a variety of inspirational stories and famous quotes about him in textbooks since I was a child, which can be described as deeply rooted in my heart.

In 1879, he made the world's first light bulb in the laboratory, using carbonized winding cotton thread as a filament, which lasted about 13 hours.

But was the light bulb really invented by him? Not! Unfortunately, I don't know why our textbooks have such low-level errors, or if they have ulterior motives, because things abound.

In 1854, Henry. Goebbels used carbonized bamboo wire and placed it in a vacuum glass bottle to energize and emit light.

In 1860, Swann found that carbonized cotton thread was better used.

In 1874, two Canadian electrical technicians filled nitrogen into a glass bulb to illuminate it with an energized carbon rod.

In 1878, Joseph Wilson. Swann completed a carbon wire-energized light bulb under vacuum and promoted it in the UK.

Edison only began his own light bulb journey after 1879, and after obtaining the patent for carbon filament incandescent lamps, he commercialized the light bulbs and let thousands of ordinary families use electric lamps.
