Qilu Network September 3 news In recent days, when the sea is low, many citizens and tourists will see many small jellyfish on the beach near the east gate of Yantai University, densely covered with beaches. Many foreign tourists see this kind of thing for the first time, they are both excited and afraid, so many small jellyfish are all over the beach, there will be no danger, right?

According to the Shandong Radio and Television Station News Center "Good Morning Shandong" report, at more than 7 p.m., at the seaside of the east gate of Yantai University, the reporter saw that the beach after the low tide was covered with small jellyfish, with a diameter of about 15 to 20 centimeters.

There are many jellyfish on the beach, more in the sea, the reporter took a flashlight to the sea, the water is full of dense jellyfish, one next to the other. A boss who opened a shop by the sea said that this was also the case in previous years, but this year it was particularly frequent.

The owner of the seaside shop said: "There are five or six, six or seven at a distance of seven or eight meters." There are a lot of baths in the sea, and there is no way to wash them when they come from other places. ”

Where do so many jellyfish come from?

Zhang Haifeng, director of the Yantai First Beach Management Institute, said that because it is a creature that flows differently with the wind and water, floating in the water, it may also be uncertain according to the tide, the wind direction has some influence, sometimes when the tide is low, it cannot keep up with the speed of the tide, and it runs aground.

Experts from the Yantai Marine Environment Monitoring and Forecasting Center told reporters that these "jellyfish" are actually "sea moon jellyfish", which have good ornamentality and are not harmful to the human body. "The sea moon jellyfish is the most common jellyfish in the coastal area of Yantai, and it will reproduce relatively fast in the special high temperature weather in August and September every year. Especially under the action of comprehensive factors such as wind and waves, it is a relatively normal phenomenon to gather in a certain sea area.
