The water lilies bloom at night, swinging gently against the wind, touching the water, and swinging away the ripples. Like that homesick feeling, it swirled thickly in the heart. The poignant erhu starred in a natural song with the piano ensemble, which lasted for a long time.

"Water Lilies"

It was composed in 2002 by the famous erhu player Mr. Jia Pengfang, and the tune is melodious and gentle, like crying. Between each note, there is a strong sense of homesickness, euphemism and affection, poignant, stirring up the deepest sentimentality of the heart, and the boat that cannot dock is indescribably beautiful.

Jia Pengfang

Born in April 1958 in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang Province. Erhu player, member of the Chinese Musicians Association and the Japan Oriental Music Society.

In 1978, he joined the Central Chinese Orchestra.

In 1979, he began to work as an erhu soloist in the troupe.

In 1984, he became the deputy chief of the national orchestra of the troupe.

Since 1980, he has recorded a number of erhu solo pieces for Beijing People's Radio, Central People's Radio, China Radio International, etc.

Influenced by his brother since childhood, Jia Pengfang got an erhu at the age of 8 and began a difficult road of study, during which his dream of studying in Beijing was seriously hindered by the Cultural Revolution and the Tangshan earthquake. Later, in order to pursue higher artistic attainments, in 1988, he resolutely studied in Japan with a suitcase and an erhu, and studied at the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts, the highest institution of Japanese art academies, and obtained a master's degree.

After his stay, he met Mr. Katsuhisa Hattori, a famous Composer of Japan and president of the Japan Writers and Arrangers Association, and was appointed as a permanent soloist in his concerts, traveling to and from music stages in Japan and around the world. In 1997, his ensemble with the New York Modern Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in New York established his unshakable position as a world-class performer.

In June 1998, Mr. Jia Pengfang's attempts and high-quality performances on the fusion of Western musical instruments and Chinese national instruments in the debut work "River River" of the Month of Peace brand have been highly praised at home and abroad, and sales have also been successful.

Rainbow Rainbow, which released the album that further advanced the concept in 1999, was a greater success than its predecessor.

Later, Mr. Jia Pengfang successively launched many albums and compilations such as "Faraway Haruka", "Sho Xiang", "Roman Romance", "Erhu Erhu", "Moonlight Moonlight" and so on in the Month of Peace.

"Water Lilies" is Mr. Jia Pengfang's original composition in "Faraway Haruka".

All these efforts were not in vain, not only bringing many auditory feasts to music fans, but more importantly, promoting the erhu, a traditional Chinese national instrument, to the world.
