The Whitney Houston biopic "I Want to Dance With People" was set in North America

Recently, Sony Pictures announced that the late singer Whitney Houston's biopic "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" is set in North America and will be officially released on December 23, 2022.

The film was directed by Cassie Lemmons ("Say To Me") and written and produced by Anthony McCarten ("Bohemian Rhapsody"). Naomi Aki, who starred in Star Wars Episode 9, plays legendary singer Whitney Houston, and Moses Ingram (Rear Wing Outcast) plays Robyn Crawford, Houston's longtime assistant and creative director. After Houston's death, Crawford revealed in the book that the two had been lovers.

Approved by Houston's Estate Board, the film was described as "a delightful, emotional, heartbreaking tribute to the life and music of the greatest R&B singer of all time, depicting her journey from obscurity to superstardom."

Born in 1963, Whitney Houston is known for her song "I Will Always Love You" (I Will Always Love You), has won six Grammy Awards, and has had a profound influence on the American music scene, and is known as "The Voice of America" and "America's First Voice". In 2012, Whitney Houston died suddenly at the age of 48, which made the entire music industry sad.
