Sony's "Whitney Houston" biopic "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" recently found a female number one, Naomi Ackie, who will play a generation of diva Whitney Houston.
Naomi Archie previously played a supporting role in the movie Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker.
However, she does not sing Whitney's classic songs herself, and like Bohemian Rhapsody, the song uses the original voice of the singer himself, and the actor is just lip-sync.
The screenplay was written by Anthony McCarten, screenwriter of The Principle of Everything and Bohemian Rhapsody, directed by black female filmmaker Stella Meghie.
Whitney Houston is a famous Black Singer and Film Amphibian star in the United States. During her lifetime, she sold more than 200 million records worldwide, winning six Grammy Awards (26 nominations) and 22 American Music Awards (38 nominations).
She has also starred in classic music films such as The Bodyguard, Waiting To Exhale, The Preacher's Wife, and produced the Princess Diaries film series.
Whitney Houston is also the only artist ever to win a Grammy Award, An Emmy, MTV Music Television Award, MTV Movie Award, People's Choice Award, billboard Billboard Music Award.
The title of the movie "I Want to Dance with Someone" comes from the name of a representative song by Whitney. The film was approved by the Whitney Heritage Management Organization, which means that the film will be able to use classic songs such as "I Will Always Love You" and "When You Believe" by Whitney.
Sony hopes the biopic will be released in time for Thanksgiving Day in 2022.
