Pre-production preparations

As a marine power fuel, LNG can achieve zero sulfur oxide emissions and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 25% compared with traditional marine fuels, which is especially suitable for the needs of international ocean-going ships with large capacity and long transportation distance. In the mode of using liquefied natural gas, the cruising capacity has reached 12,000 nautical miles, and the carbon reduction effect can be achieved by 30% in the mode of oil comparison.

The ship has two LNG storage tanks, a single tank weight of about 160 tons, a capacity of 1800 cubic meters, the project team in advance to do a key area state inspection and commissioning inspection plan, and the relevant departments, cooperation units to jointly prepare refueling procedures, the development of risk prevention and control measures and emergency plans, on-site disposal plans, etc., at the same time clear participation in the division of responsibilities, do a comprehensive risk assessment, the possible risk of various predictions in advance, to ensure that the ship has the conditions for bunkering.

Carry out emergency drills

The main component of LNG is methane, and there are small amounts of ethane and propane, which will also volatilize and diffuse rapidly if there is a slight leakage. In order to ensure the safety of construction in the process of LNG bunkering, the Ministry of Mechanical and Electrical Affairs organized an on-site emergency response drill for LNG leakage and frostbite.

The drill simulated a leakage during the LNG refueling process of a 7,500-space dual-fuel vehicle ro-ro ship, and the situation was very critical. As the alarm sounded, the mechanical and electrical department quickly activated the emergency plan, and the rescue team rushed to the scene as soon as possible, racing against time to carry out rescue operations, taking measures to plug leaks, and striving to control the source of leakage; The medical rescue team conducts emergency treatment and simulated transport of possible frostbite victims; The security alert team pulled up the cordon to maintain on-site order and ensure the safety of the surrounding environment; The logistics support team is fully committed to ensuring the supply of materials and other related support. The close cooperation and coordination of all teams have laid a good foundation for promoting the solid and orderly development of LNG bunkering work.

Successfully complete the raise

After the completion of the safety inspection and confirmation before multiple bunkering, the disclosure work and the replacement of liquid nitrogen for cold tank and inerting in the early stage, LNG gas bunkering officially began.

The refueling from the beginning of drying/inerting to the end of the refueling, a total of 48 hours, all operators take turns on duty, seamless connection, detailed records of the whole process of relevant data, service providers throughout the process of guidance services, to ensure that each step of the operation is safe and orderly, and finally successfully completed two tanks of LNG fuel with a total of 426622 cubic meters, laying a solid foundation for the smooth construction and delivery of the company's first 7500-space dual-fuel vehicle ro-ro ship.
