It has a history of 5,000 years of civilization, magnificent mountains and rivers, and hospitable people. However, it wasn't until I took my Dutch girlfriend back to China for a trip that I really understood: China is not only beautiful, but also beautiful beyond words.
Her first impressions
The Netherlands, my girlfriend's hometown, is also a beautiful country. In her description, the Netherlands is a small European country with beautiful landscapes and a long history.
However, when she set foot on Chinese soil, the first thing she saw was a bustling city, with high-rise buildings and busy traffic. She closed her mouth in surprise and exclaimed, "It's spectacular!" "I am incredibly proud because her shock comes from her first impression of China.
She is picky about China
Although China made a strong first impression on her, she did not take it lightly and became more critical. Walking on the streets of Beijing, she recorded the entire hutong with her camera, and she was amazed by the beauty of traditional Chinese architecture and the unique charm of hutong culture.
In Xi'an, she tried an authentic meat bun and fell in love with Chinese food, saying, "In the Netherlands, I have eaten many local cuisines, but none of them have made me remember Chinese food as much." ”
However, she did not blindly praise China, and she also pointed out some of China's problems. She feels that China's environmental pollution is worse than that of the Netherlands, and that China's traffic congestion is unbearable.
Her pickiness makes me feel a little embarrassed, but I know that this is my love for China and my expectation for China's development.
Her emotions after leaving China
When I accompanied her all over China, I found that her eyes were full of affection and reluctance. The night before she left China, she stood silently in front of the window, staring at the dimly lit city for a long time, tears quietly flowing.
She said that she was reluctant to leave China because China was so good that she really couldn't bear everything here.
For the first two days after leaving China, she was depressed and even cried in my arms.
She said that this is her truest emotion for China, and that she has never been to a place where she shed tears before, nor has she ever felt heartache for leaving a place.
My mood
Watching her emotional turmoil after leaving China, it was difficult for me to calm my heart, because I knew that China had become an indispensable part of her life.
I think that perhaps in her eyes, China is no longer a strange country, but a place worth in-depth understanding and exploration.
Accompanying her to China made me look at everything around me anew, and I began to love my country and the people around me more.
China has a unique charm, whether it is the beautiful natural scenery or the profound history and culture, it is irresistible to fall in love.
In my heart, her tears were right, because this is the truest emotion for China.
Whether it is praise or pickiness, it is all out of love for China.
