On May 9, the provincial community comprehensive disaster reduction work site meeting was held in Zigong, and as one of the points, Zigong Longhu Experimental School successfully completed the earthquake emergency evacuation drill display.
The drill simulated the scenario of a magnitude 5 earthquake in Yantan District, Zigong City. In order to ensure the smooth progress of the drill, Longfor Experimental School set up an emergency evacuation drill leading group in advance, and held a special deployment meeting to conduct a desktop deduction of the drill process to ensure that each staff member is clear about their responsibilities and positions.
When the earthquake alarm sounded, the teachers immediately issued an "emergency shelter" order, and the students hid under their desks with their heads covered with books. Subsequently, the teachers made quick rounds to ensure that the students' avoidance actions were standardized, and opened the "life channel" for the students. A minute later, as the earthquake alarm was lifted, the students were evacuated to the sports field in an orderly manner according to the designated route under the guidance of the teachers.
After arriving at the sports field safely, the head teacher of each class quickly counted the number of people and reported to the commander. The commander immediately issued an order, requiring all classes to do a good job in the psychological counseling and follow-up disposal of students to ensure the safety of teachers and students. At the same time, the school launched the second-level response to the earthquake emergency, and the emergency teams were quickly put in place to carry out search and rescue, medical assistance, logistics support, communication and other work.
The drill not only improved the school's ability to respond to and deal with emergencies, but also enhanced the safety awareness and self-rescue and mutual rescue ability of teachers and students. Through the exercise, the teachers and students mastered the basic methods and skills of rapid escape and self-rescue in danger, which laid a solid foundation for the school's disaster prevention and mitigation work.
