In July 2005, when Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province was hit by a typhoon, Xi Jinping, then Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee, went to the disaster area to inspect the disaster situation and visit the front-line cadres and people in disaster relief.
Xi Jinping traveled to various counties, cities and villages, and was busy until more than 7 o'clock in the evening, and there was still a condolence point that he did not go. A local comrade in charge who accompanied him said that it was so late, everyone had not eaten, and it would take more than an hour to return to the city.
After hearing this, Xi Jinping said very seriously: "You said it lightly. Do the victims have anything to eat? Where to stay at night? We still don't know about this, can we eat this meal? In May 2013, shortly after the Lushan earthquake, General Secretary Xi Jinping made a special trip to the earthquake-stricken area in Lushan, Sichuan Province to inspect and guide the earthquake relief work on the spot.
