The first Universal (International) Exposition began in 1855

The first International Exposition began in 1855 in London, England, and was followed by four expositions in 1867, 1878, 1889 and 1900, almost every 11 years. Among them, the 1889 Universal Exhibition was to "commemorate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution", and the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition was to "look back at the scientific and technological achievements of the 19th century". In the 20th century, Paris held two more professional international expositions, the "Paris International Exposition of Fine Arts" in 1925 and the "Paris World Exposition of Arts and Technologies" in 1937.
