The Sound of Desert (formerly: Ballad of the Desert) is a Chinese costume television series based on Tong Hua's romance novel Ballad of the Desert, invested and produced by Tang Dynasty Film Production Co., Ltd. Directed by Li Guoguo, written by Wang Lizhi, starring Liu Shishi, Peng Yuyan, Hu Ge, Chen Fara, Han Dong, Qin Hao, Shi Xiaoqun, Tian Ruini, Zhang Keyi and so on.
The drama mainly tells the legendary love story between the desert wolf girl Jinyue who came to Jian'an due to a coup d'état and changed her name to Xinyue, and the Southern Dynasty general Wei Wuji and the Confucian merchant Mo Xun.
The TV series was broadcast on Hunan Satellite TV every Wednesday and Thursday from 22:00 to 24:00 on October 1, 2014.
