In March 2020, the first PhD-level innovation and leadership program jointly organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the University of Stirling was officially approved by the Ministry of Education. Relying on the abundant academic resources of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the University of Stirling, the DMan program aims to cultivate senior professionals with an international perspective, certain research skills, and the ability to put forward innovative insights in the face of problems in the international business environment through multi-dimensional and interdisciplinary theoretical and practical research.

Students who choose the SSS and Stirling PhD program will spend three years working closely with experienced academic advisors from the University of Social Sciences and the University of Stirling to research cutting-edge topics in the field of management and complete a dissertation. Through this study, students will become experts in the practice and theory of management, which will help them in their careers and in the development of their organizations. The program adopts a dual mentorship system, with the British side serving as the first mentor and the Chinese side serving as the second mentor. Supervisors and students are selected in both directions, mainly with reference to the student's research direction.
