If you blush as soon as you exercise, is there something wrong with your body?

Is there a relationship between the change in the face after exercise and the health condition?

"Life Times" invites experts to explain the reasons for the "face" of sports, and remind you to pay attention to the performance that you really need to pay attention to in sports.

Why do some people "get on the face" in sports?

Su Hao, an associate professor at the School of Sports and Human Sciences of Beijing Sport University, said that under normal circumstances, turning red after exercise is a normal reaction of the body, which is harmless to the body, mainly related to the following aspects.

Faster blood circulation

Exercise can accelerate the body's metabolism and speed up blood circulation, so as to ensure the blood supply of the locomotor system, circulatory system and central nervous system at high speed. Increased blood flow to the face makes it look more rosy.

telangiectasia

The amount of heat generated in the body increases during exercise, and the body needs to bring the heat to the surface of the body as soon as possible and be excreted by sweat. More blood flows to the skin and capillaries dilate, resulting in redness of the face.

Some people are born with more capillaries, and during exercise, the capillaries naturally carry more blood to the face, making them more likely to blush from exercise.

Respiratory irregularities

If you don't pay attention to your breathing style or exercise too hard during exercise, the inhaled oxygen cannot meet the body's needs, and there will be a lack of oxygen, which may cause your face to be particularly red after exercise.

The stratum corneum of the face is too thin

People with thin stratum corneum on the face have sensitive facial skin. Exercise accelerates blood circulation, making the face more prone to redness, especially if you have fair skin.

5 types of discomfort, stop exercising immediately

During exercise, you should always pay attention to your body changes, and stop in time if you feel unwell, the following 5 reactions may be red flags.

Chest pain, difficulty breathing

Chest pain, dyspnea, including left chest precordial pain, left chest pain, and even left shoulder, left back, left tooth pain, etc., may be heart attack leading to myocardial ischemia, angina, should stop exercising immediately and seek medical attention in time.

If you have cardiovascular disease, seek the advice of your doctor before exercising.

Dizziness and headache

If you feel dizzy and headache, blackness in front of your eyes, weakness in your hands and feet, nausea and vomiting, or cold sweats during exercise, you may have exercise-induced hypoglycemia.

Hypoglycemia can be triggered by prolonged heavy exercise, exercising on an empty stomach or hungry, or being overstressed during exercise. Exercise should be stopped immediately, rest by sitting, supplemented with foods or drinks containing glucose, and kept warm.

Heart rate is always on the fast side

Do not exceed 70%~80% of the maximum heart rate (220-age) during exercise. Your heart rate should start to drop after a break or exercise, and if your heart rate is consistently fast and doesn't drop after a thorough rest, you should stop exercising and see a doctor.

Joint pain

Elbows, waist, knees, ankles and other parts are prone to sports injuries, and if it is pain caused by acute sports injuries such as sprains and ligament tears, you should seek medical attention in time.

A sudden increase in sweat volume

If you sweat a lot more during a certain exercise, but you don't sweat as much as you normally would, it may be that your body is overcompensating and constantly adjusting your body temperature. Exercise should be stopped immediately, as this may result in significant electrolyte loss.

How to end a sport "gracefully".

After a sweaty workout, some people may choose to rest or hydrate immediately. In fact, some small habits after exercise are not conducive to physical health.

1. "Cool down" after exercise

After a workout, it usually takes about 1 hour for the body to calm down and allow the heart rate to return to normal. Sudden cessation of sports increases the risk of sports injuries. It is best to gradually adjust the physical condition by stretching gently to avoid discomfort caused by sudden cessation of exercise.

Stretching, as a part of tidying up and relaxing, is not always better. It is recommended to do 30~60 seconds for each stretching action after exercise, with 1~2 times as appropriate, and the total stretching time should be controlled at about 10 minutes.

2. Take small sips and drink water in moderation

If you want to drink a lot of water after exercise, it will overburden the heart and stimulate the gastrointestinal tract, and the principle of hydration is "drink a small amount and drink more".

In principle, for every 0.5 kg of body weight loss, the water intake should be increased by 2~3 cups, about 500~700 ml.

3. Rest for a while before taking a shower

If you take a bath immediately after exercising, the heat generated in the body cannot be well dissipated, which will cause internal heat and external cooling, destroying the body's thermal balance. It is advisable to wait for the pulse to return to near normal (60-100 beats/minute) before bathing, preferably in a warm shower.

It should be reminded that if you do not take a shower after sweating, sweat, sebum and dirt will mix to form a dirt film that adheres to the skin, which may increase the risk of clogged pores, bacterial infection, and induce or aggravate back acne. ▲
