There is news that the next generation of the Nintendo Switch will use a magnetic Joy-Con controller, and the Joy-Con controller currently used by the Switch may not be backwards compatible. Spanish media Vandal was able to get some information about the next generation of the Nintendo Switch from the manufacturer of accessories and peripherals.
It is reported that the next-gen console will be larger than the current Switch's size, but it won't be as big as the Steam Deck. As mentioned earlier, since the magnetic system will replace the track-based system, this means that the original Joy-Con controller will not be backwards compatible. However, this shouldn't be a problem for the Switch Pro controller, which is likely to be compatible based on its own characteristics.
In addition, the manufacturer claims that Nintendo can already bring a new generation of consoles to the market, but wants to wait until it has better games to help with its release. This suggests that we may not see it released until later, most likely in 2025.
