As one of the "four great comedies" of Shakespeare's plays, A Midsummer Night's Dream is his pinnacle comedy masterpiece. Magnificent colors, infinite reverie, crazy fun, playful and funny, a lovely, poetic and magical "dramatic oil painting" reproduces Shakespeare's classics.
Under the moonlight, dreams are intertwined, the shadows of the trees in the forest are mottled, poetry and romance dance together, and the flowers of love bloom in the middle of the night...... In the world of A Midsummer Night's Dream, the trajectories of fate intertwine in the depths of the forest. With its unique spirit of freedom, TNT Theatre perfectly outlines a poetic and romantic picture, taking you on a magical journey of love.
The play tells the story of Hermia, an Athenian girl who defies her father's orders and falls in love with Lashande, who escapes from Athens late at night, and Helena and her lover Demetrius also chase them into the forest. In the forest, the fairy king and the fairy queen turned against each other, and the fairy king asked the elf to drip the acacia juice in the eyes of the fairy queen in retaliation, so that she fell in love with what she saw at first sight.
Because the elf ordered the flower juice wrong, it caused a dispute between lovers, and finally the fairy king lifted the magic, and the fairy queen and the fairy king reconciled, and the lovers finally became married.
Founded in the UK in 1980, TNT Theatre has a strong musical theatre character, with new scores commissioned by composers and collaboration between directors and choreographers. Artistic Director Paul Stebyn said that A Midsummer Night's Dream is Shakespeare's most popular comedy, and that madness, love, poetry and magic make it the perfect combination of comedy and romance, making this 1596 work written by Shakespeare to congratulate a friend on his new marriage a celebration of love across time and space. Shakespeare's joyful approach to bringing the elves, historical heroes and mythological figures of English folklore on the same stage is a spirit of freedom and vitality that is deeply rooted in TNT's work.
