A few days ago, the first performance of the 2024 North Bund "Flowing Notes" concert series kicked off in the World Meeting Room.

At the scene, the young composer Luo Wei took "Dreaming in the North Bund" as the theme, and led the citizens into the urban mechanism of Shanghai with the piano through chapters such as "Walking in Shanghai", "The Temperature of Music", "Picking Up the Light, North Bund" and "Dreaming in the North Bund".

Xiaohong learned at the scene that Luo Wei, the protagonist of this concert, after the premiere of the symphonic poem "Ode to Peace" at the United Nations Headquarters in New York at the end of the "United Nations Chinese Day", he devoted himself to the post-recording and rehearsal of the "Hongkou Symphony Concerto", and the concert staged three original new works, including the ensemble work "Zhapu Road Walk", the "Nocturne" performed by guest saxophonist Li Shihai, and the concerto work "One Day: Riverside Sunset Dialogue" that can heal the fatigue of a day's work.

After a year of preparation and creation, Luo Wei's "Hongkou Symphony Concerto: Dream of the North Bund" is about to come out. This work will be divided into nine chapters, including the romantic and splendid "Dream of the North Bund" and "Nocturne", as well as the eloquent "Sunset Suzhou Creek", as well as the depiction of urban fireworks on Zhapu Road and North Sichuan Road, as well as "Turning the Pages of 1927 to Lu Xun" like turning the pages of history.

The "Flowing Notes" concert series is a new art form that has once again turned the North Bund into a music gathering place after last year's "Rooftop Concert" on the North Bund. In addition to Luo Wei's performance in the World Lounge, the world-renowned pianist Song Siheng will also come to Hongkou in a few days to perform an interactive piano concert between Paris and Shanghai.

In the future, Hongkou District will continue to invite artists to create and interpret works with the theme of Hongkou and the North Bund through a series of music activities called "Flowing Notes" on the North Bund, enriching the carrier of the North Bund art shoreline, presenting a dreamy North Bund for the general public, expressing the spirit of the city in music, opening the window of music to the world, allowing everyone to hear Hongkou and meet the world in the North Bund, showing the image and style of the North Bund Tourist Resort in an all-round way, and launching the brand of Hongkou as a "cultural three places".
