The religious beliefs of the Chinese are pragmatic-oriented. When we are faced with a difficult situation or in need of help, we look for those deities who can bring us practical help. Whether it's a god or a ghost, we don't care where they come from, how old they are, we only care if they are effective. Once we feel their power, we pray sincerely and give them their due offerings when their wishes have been fulfilled.

Chinese beliefs are flexible and do not stick to a particular religion or deity. Believe whatever we need. Whether it is the Bodhisattva, Jesus, the Celestial Venerable, or even the legendary old men and old ladies, as long as they can bring us good luck or solve difficulties, we will worship them devoutly. This way of believing not only reflects the inclusiveness of the Chinese, but also demonstrates our pragmatic spirit.

Therefore, in China, we often hear the saying that "temporarily cramming Buddha's feet, and not burning incense in leisure time". This does not mean that we lack faith, but that we are more focused on action and results. We pray to the gods when we need to, and we keep a normal heart in normal times.

So, no matter how many other religions tried, they could not conquer China, a land of wisdom and faith.
