In order to celebrate the arrival of the 24th World Intellectual Property Day and promote the development of copyright protection in Dongcheng District, on the morning of April 26, the 2024 Dongcheng District "4.26" World Intellectual Property Day theme publicity activity jointly sponsored by the Propaganda Department of the Dongcheng District Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Dongcheng District Market Supervision Bureau (Dongcheng District Intellectual Property Office) and undertaken by the Stadium Road Street kicked off at Guantan Art Space. The theme of the event was "Strengthening the Effectiveness of Intellectual Property Services and Promoting the Transformation and Application of Folklore Copyright". The Propaganda Department of the Municipal Party Committee, relevant departments of the district, relevant leaders of various streets, and representatives of parks and enterprises attended the event.
At the event, the "Dongcheng District Intellectual Property Service Alliance" was established, the "Dongcheng District Folklore Copyright Protection and Promotion Pilot Construction Implementation Plan" was released, the guests at the meeting jointly launched the "Dongcheng District Folklore Copyright Protection and Promotion Pilot Construction Action", and issued letters of appointment to the representatives of the expert group members of the "Dongcheng District Folklore Copyright Protection and Promotion Research Tour"; Dongcheng District folk artists, representatives of the municipal copyright protection demonstration park and street representatives jointly issued the "Copyright Empowering Folklore Development" initiative.

Copyright is an important part of intellectual property. It is understood that Dongcheng District is rich in folk literature and art resources, including folk literature, traditional arts, traditional skills (handicrafts), traditional music and other categories of folk art projects 126, 225 intangible cultural heritage list items, 72 time-honored brands.
In November 2023, Dongcheng District was successfully selected by the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China as a pilot area for the protection and promotion of national folklore copyright, and was the only area selected in Beijing.
At the 2023 International Copyright Forum, Dongcheng District was selected as a pilot area for the protection and promotion of folklore copyright in 2023.
To this end, the Propaganda Department of the Dongcheng District Party Committee and the relevant departments of the district formulated the "Implementation Plan for the Protection and Promotion of Pilot Construction of Folklore Copyright in Dongcheng District", and launched four major action plans of "resource integration and mechanism guarantee", "legal support and protection of rights and interests", "industrial development and value transformation" and "industry cultivation and publicity and promotion", aiming to build a new mechanism for the protection of folklore copyright services, a new model for the professional training of folklore copyright protection, and a new system for promoting the benign development of the folklore industry. Construct the goal of folklore copyright protection, publicity, and promotion of new brands.
At the same time, with the help of external brains and external forces, combined with the resources of think tanks such as Guangming Daily and universities in Beijing, the "Dongcheng District Folklore Copyright Protection and Promotion Research Tour" was launched, focusing on the current situation of folklore resources in the district, the difficulties and difficulties faced by copyright protection and value transformation and the corresponding solutions, etc., to carry out special research, and provide professional theoretical and practical support for the pilot construction.
As a key element in the new quality of productivity, intellectual property plays an important role in economic and social construction. It is reported that the "Dongcheng District Intellectual Property Service Alliance" established at the event gathered regional high-quality and high-end intellectual property service industry resources, and the first batch of members covered copyright service stations, law firms, guarantee agencies, etc., which can provide basic comprehensive public services, intellectual property legal services, financial services and other comprehensive services. The whole chain of services realizes the full coverage of the intellectual property service needs of innovative entities, further meets the intellectual property service needs of enterprises in the district, and empowers the high-quality development of the region with enterprise innovation and upgrading.
On the day of the event, Dongcheng District also set up a branch venue in the WE Cultural and Creative Park of Debi Temple of Heaven, held a theme market of "Copyright Empowering the Development of Folk Literature", and set up 15 special booths such as the promotion of intellectual property transformation and application, the display of Dongcheng's intangible cultural heritage characteristics, the experience of folk literature and art projects, the promotion of "old books and new knowledge", and the special action of "eliminating pornography and fighting illegal publications", to publicize and popularize relevant knowledge in the field of copyright in the cultural market, and to carry out various intellectual property related consulting services such as copyright and trademark rights.
During the Beijing Intellectual Property Publicity Week, the whole region also held a variety of activities such as outdoor publicity and consultation on "Respecting Intellectual Property Rights and Optimizing the Business Environment", a symposium on intellectual property law popularization and rights protection for cultural enterprises, and lectures on intellectual property protection, creating a rich atmosphere of respecting copyright and advocating innovation in the whole society.
In the next step, Dongcheng District will continue to adhere to the concept of "Chongwen Striving for the First", take the construction of a national pilot project for the protection and promotion of folklore copyright as the starting point, and strive to promote the four major action plans of "resource integration and mechanism guarantee", "legal support and protection of rights and interests", "industrial development and value transformation" and "industry cultivation and publicity and promotion", so as to empower the development of folklore with copyright, stimulate the innovative vitality and vigorous power of the development of intellectual property rights and folklore, and constantly depict the beautiful chapter of the development of Dongcheng District in the new era.
