Under normal circumstances, when the water flow of the Yellow River is about 800-1000 cubic meters, it is more suitable for wild fishing. If the water flow exceeds 1500 cubic meters per second, it will be turbid. At this point, the previous shallows are flooded, and still water bays can turn into rapids, making fishing a little more difficult. However, for some people who often go to the Yellow River to fish, they will choose the fishing spots according to the changes in the water flow.
When the flow of the middle and lower reaches 2500-3000 cubic meters per second, the sediment content of the river water may exceed 5Kg per cubic meter or even higher.
When the river flow exceeds 3,000 cubic meters, the old fishing spots may have been submerged, and more new fishing spots will appear at this time, and the previous shallows may have become good fishing spots.
Therefore, before going out, anglers should search for the changes in the water level of the Yellow River.
For example, on April 20, the water level at the Yellow River's Huayuankou in Zhengzhou was 88.66 meters, and the water flow was 1,020 cubic meters per second, which is more suitable for fishing.
In April and May every year, the water level in the lower reaches of the Yellow River does not change much, and as the water temperature rises, everyone can go fishing in the Yellow River.
In this season, the oxtail fish, yellow spicy ding, red-eyed grasshopper and other fish species in the Yellow River have already opened their mouths to feed, and if you are lucky, you can connect the rod to catch the fish.
Especially the oxtail and yellow spicy dice, if you poke it into the fish nest, you can catch dozens of fish a day. The oxtail fish likes to hide in the rocky pile, the dam head is a more ideal fishing spot, there are good fishing spots in Sanliuzhai, Madu, Taohuayu and other places in the Zhengzhou section of the Yellow River; the number of oxtail fish in the Kaifeng and Puyang sections of the downstream is more, and the local anglers often catch some giant "oxtail fish" with a body length of 40 centimeters or even 60 centimeters, which looks quite gratifying.
