The 26th of this month is the 24th World Intellectual Property Day, in order to create a good atmosphere of respecting knowledge and encouraging innovation, this afternoon (April 23), the main venue of the 2024 Chongming District Intellectual Property Publicity Week was held in Minben Middle School.
At the event, the Director of the Intellectual Property Promotion Division of the Municipal Intellectual Property Office awarded the seventh batch of intellectual property education demonstration schools (Minben Middle School) in primary and secondary schools in Shanghai. After the application and evaluation, Minben Middle School became the first intellectual property education demonstration high school in Chongming.
The Shanghai Demonstration School of Intellectual Property Education in Primary and Secondary Schools is jointly promoted by the Intellectual Property Department and the Education Department, and further cultivates and enhances the innovative spirit and intellectual property awareness of primary and secondary school students through carrying out intellectual property popularization and publicity and education activities, and strives to provide support for the cultivation of innovative talents, so as to give full play to the radiating role of intellectual property education in primary and secondary schools. At present, there are two demonstration schools for intellectual property education in the district, the other being Jiangfan Primary School.
At the scene, the Chongming District Geographical Indication Industry Alliance was unveiled. In recent years, Chongming District has actively carried out the construction of a national demonstration zone for the protection of geographical indication products, deeply implemented the intellectual property strategy, and strengthened the creation, application, protection, management and service of intellectual property rights.
At present, the district has Chongming rice, Chongming goat, Chongming lentils, Chongming gourd, Chongming old hairy crab, Chongming narcissus, Chongming crispy taro, Chongming boxwood 8 geographical indication certification trademarks, Chongming old hairy crab, Chongming old liquor 2 geographical indication protection products and Chongming goat, Chongming gourd, Chongming narcissus and Chongming sand aconitum pig 4 agricultural product geographical indications, accounting for half of the city's total.
The establishment of the GI Industry Alliance focuses on the characteristics of geographical indications, further strengthens the creation of demonstration zones, builds a platform for brand protection and application, and promotes the linkage development of the upstream and downstream of the GI industry chain, which is conducive to expanding the development space of intellectual property rights in cultural inheritance and industrial development, quality protection and promotion, brand protection and value enhancement.
On the day of the event, the participating leaders also presented Chongming Geographical Indication promotional philatelic products to the student representatives, encouraging the students to establish intellectual property awareness from an early age and strive to be a "little guard" of intellectual property protection.
This year, the theme of the IP Awareness Week is "Transformation and Application of Intellectual Property for High-quality Development". During the publicity week, the district will also carry out joint enforcement actions for intellectual property protection, intellectual property activities in schools and communities, theme publicity activities of copyright workstations, and roving trials of intellectual property cases.
