On April 18, 27 reporters from Angola, Mozambique, Chad, Zambia and other countries visited PetroChina's investment in Africa, the development of oil and gas business, and the existing key projects, and fully exchanged views on issues of interest.

In his welcome speech, the relevant person in charge of the International Department of China National Petroleum Corporation said that China is the largest developing country in the world, Africa is the continent with the largest concentration of developing countries, and China and Africa have always been a community with a shared future. For more than 30 years, PetroChina has carried out oil and gas-related business in 22 countries and regions in Africa, and has sincerely cooperated with African governments and partners for mutual benefit and win-win results. Since 2018, when China and Africa reached a strategic consensus on working together to build a community with a shared future, China-Africa cooperation has entered a new era of high-level and high-quality development. A series of oil and gas cooperation projects have achieved good economic benefits, benefited the local social construction and development, and have become a "model project" of PetroChina's "Belt and Road" initiative, which has been highly praised by leaders of China and many African countries. PetroChina is ready to work with African partners to continue to work together for mutual benefit and win-win results, jointly address challenges, further strengthen and expand practical cooperation in the energy field, jointly safeguard energy security and supply chain security, and promote green, low-carbon and sustainable development.

At the exchange meeting, the relevant persons in charge of CNPC International and the Research Institute of Exploration and Development respectively introduced the brief situation of PetroChina's overseas oil and gas business, the outlook of oil and gas business in Africa and international oil and gas cooperation, and focused on the fulfillment of PetroChina's social responsibility in Africa. PetroChina has donated more than US$140 million to African culture, education, agriculture, medical and health care, environmental protection and other public welfare fields by paying taxes and fees, providing employment opportunities, training employees, assisting in infrastructure construction, and protecting the local ecological environment, benefiting millions of local residents and making important contributions to local social and economic development.

The members of the press corps actively raised and exchanged views on PetroChina's business development, technology research and development and transfer, energy conservation and emission reduction, investment planning and other issues in Africa. Journalists from Central Africa, Chad, Nigeria and Namibia asked questions, and Mocambique, a reporter from Mozambique News Agency, said that PetroChina's project in Mozambique strictly implements local environmental protection standards and actively contributes to social and people's livelihood, and looks forward to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the future to jointly promote the development and progress of both sides.

After the meeting, the members of the press group visited the exhibition hall of the achievements of PetroChina Research Institute of Exploration and Development and the State Key Laboratory of Enhanced Oil Recovery to gain an in-depth understanding of PetroChina's outstanding achievements in the field of exploration, as well as the remarkable achievements made in promoting digital transformation and intelligent development, and comprehensively deepened their understanding of the development of PetroChina's petroleum-related business fields.

19 representatives from the headquarters department of the group company, related professional companies and foreign-related units attended the meeting.
