At present, the dove tree located on Tianma Mountain in Sheshan National Forest Park has ushered in the flowering period, which is the second flowering in the past 12 years since the introduction of dove tree in Tianma Mountain.
The reporter came to Tianma Mountain, and the dove trees in front of him were luxuriant, and the group was full of flowers. Looking at it, between the two huge white "total buds", there is a purple "stamen", which looks like a white dove spreading its wings against the background of the green leaves. From a distance, the dove tree blossoms like a flock of pigeons perched on the tree, so Hong Tong is also named "pigeon tree". "The peculiarity of the dove tree is that its flowers are set off by two large white bracts rather than composed of petals, a flower type that is very rare in the plant kingdom. Mr. Chen, a citizen, heard that the tung trees in Tianma Mountain had bloomed, so he came from Pudong New Area to watch it.
According to Jin Yifan, the person in charge of the garden center management department of the Songjiang District Greening and City Appearance Bureau, the dove tree is a world-famous ornamental plant, which has been included in the list of national key protected wild plants (national first-class protected wild plants), and has extremely high ornamental, scientific research and ecological value. Discovered in the area of Jue County, Sichuan, "Jue" not only represents the place where it was found, but also contains the beautiful meaning of jade, which complements the white jade form of the flower buds of the dove tree. The reason why it is called the "giant panda of the plant world" is because as early as two or three million years ago, many tree species on the earth were extinct, and in some areas in the south of the continent due to the complex terrain, some ancient plants were retained, and the dove tree survived at that time.
"The tree has been planted in Tianma Mountain for more than 12 years, and this is the second year that it has been observed, and the flowers are more abundant than last year. Xia Wenmei, head of the forestry department of Songjiang Forest Farm, told reporters that in 2012, Songjiang Forest Farm actively carried out the introduction and cultivation of plants, combined with the Tianma Mountain understory transformation project, and introduced dove tree species from Hubei. It is generally grown in the mountains and forests at an altitude of more than 1,000 meters, and it is not easy to grow in Shanghai. After years of careful maintenance, these dove trees began to bloom last year, and at present, only Tianma Mountain Park has a small distribution in Sheshan National Forest Park, and citizens and tourists who are interested in dove trees should not miss it.
