author:Beijing Traffic Broadcasting

It is a good time for spring flowers to bloom, and the empty and fresh park has become the first choice for many citizens to travel. However, some citizens have recently reported to this station that there are fewer parking spaces in Jingcheng Forest Park in Chaoyang District, and there are no parking spaces even on weekdays, which greatly reduces the experience of visiting the park. Can the park's parking spaces be increased in the later stage? What other measures can the management take to improve the visitor experience? Please listen to the first issue of the "Investigation of Park Parking Problems" produced by Beijing traffic radio reporter Zhang Sainan→

At 10:30 a.m. last weekend, Mr. Chen, who lives in Chaoyang District, took his family to the Beijing Forest Park to play, but when he arrived at the parking lot of the park, he found that there was a sign at the door that said "the parking space is full", so he had to park his car on the side of the road where there was no parking space.

Mr. Chen: I'm going to go to the park, because we live nearby, and we basically come here every weekend, and there are not enough parking spaces in it, so we can only park on the side of the road. There's no way to do that, there's nowhere to stop, where to park? Like we had some of this picnic stuff including camping stuff definitely going to come by car.

Jingcheng Forest Park is located on both sides of Huangshan Mudian Road in Chaoyang District, covering an area of 43.33 hectares and is divided into two areas: east and west. The park has parking lots in two separate areas, and there is no charge for parking, but there are only about 70 parking spaces in total. At the time of the reporter's visit, the parking spaces in the eastern area were full, and there were only a few vacant parking spaces in the western district. Citizens who came to the park said:

Citizen: Most of the time we don't have a parking space, but last week we came before 9 o'clock, so there are only one or two parking spaces left in this parking lot.

Near noon, Ms. Cui, a citizen, came to the park, and it happened that a car drove away from the parking lot, so she was able to park in smoothly. Ms. Cui told reporters that she was very lucky to have a parking space at this time.

Ms. Cui: Today, just in time for a car to leave, we stopped in. It's okay today, sometimes there are no parking spaces in this park on weekdays, and there seem to be only thirty or forty parking spaces at his door, which is too few.

The reporter learned that in order to avoid parking problems, some citizens choose non-motorized vehicles, and some choose to take a taxi with large bags and small bags. Mr. Liu, a citizen, admitted that the lack of parking spaces did affect the experience of visiting the park to a certain extent.

Mr. Liu: We used to come by car, and then we came twice and found that it was not good to park, and finally changed to the one to take a taxi, otherwise the car would be posted on the side of the road.

In addition, some members of the public have pointed out that some vehicles in the park's parking lot, which is already short of parking spaces, seem to have been parked for a long time and are not here to play.

Citizen: Because there is no charge for parking inside, I see that there are many cars that often park here and do not move, probably from the nearby work. There should be only thirty or forty parking spaces in each of the eastern and western districts, and the parking spaces are not very rich. I still think that if I can coordinate and communicate, I think it will be more convenient to plan some parking spaces. With such a big park, I don't think this parking space is enough, because it still has a relatively large flow of people.

How should the problem of social vehicles occupying parking spaces in the park be solved? The reporter sent a letter to inquire about the Pingfang District Office of Chaoyang District, the management party of the park, and the relevant staff introduced that the park currently has 39 parking spaces in the East Park and 40 parking spaces in the West Park, a total of 79. Since the park and its parking lot are free and open to the public, it is difficult to screen whether people who drive into the park or not. In the next step, in order to facilitate the public to visit the park, the district will do its best to free up more parking space for park visitors, and at the same time arrange parking lot management personnel to do a good job of screening. If it is discovered that people who are driving into the park are not visiting the park, they will be persuaded not to park their vehicles in the public parking lot of the park.

In addition, are there any other measures to solve the problem of parking difficulties for citizens in the park? The Pingfang District Office replied that the existing parking spaces in the Beijing Forest Park are designed and constructed in accordance with the overall planning of the park. In the next step, when parking spaces are tight, the park management will guide park vehicles to other country parks in the jurisdiction to park, and at the same time advise visitors to go green.
