This year, the 300 acres of new onion "Hongzhu No. 1" planted in Guangxian Village were listed a full month earlier than the conventional varieties, not only the yield and quality are guaranteed, but the price is 1 yuan per catty higher than last year. At present, the village collective company has signed a subscription contract with the representatives of onion subscribers, and the place where the 300 acres of onions go has been properly arranged.
The gratifying picture of the harvest is inseparable from Zuo Ziyu, the first secretary of the village selected by the county. The village has a history of onion cultivation for more than 50 years, with a planting area of about 4,000 acres, but the income is not ideal. Zuo Ziyu said that the successful trial planting of "Hongzhu No. 1" has given the villagers a "reassurance", and it is expected that the planting area will be expanded to about 2,000 mu this year.
