"Fusion: Seven Contemporary Art Artists Exhibition" was held at Tanghu Art Museum

On the afternoon of April 12, the opening ceremony of the "Rong-Seven Contemporary Art Exhibition" co-sponsored by the Hubei Artists Association and the Tanghu Art Museum was held at the Tanghu Art Museum. The exhibition will run until May 5, 2024 and is open to the public free of charge.

At the opening ceremony, a donation ceremony was also held, and each of the seven participating artists donated one artwork to the Tanghu Art Museum.

Wang Xinyao, curator, @武汉2024轮值主席 and director of Tanghu Art Museum, said that although the seven artists have different educational backgrounds and life journeys, they all actively explore the transformation of "images of memory" into "images of thinking", conveying thoughts on integration and innovation, self and other, local and Western, past and future.

"It is precisely because Tanghu Art Museum has been committed to the research, promotion and collection of local artists that it constitutes the complete development of the Hubei Artists Association and the ecology of Hubei art. Chen Yongjin, vice chairman of Hubei Artists Association and director of Wuhan Art Museum, said that the seven artists participating in this exhibition all started from their own life experiences for artistic expression, which made the exhibition present a diversified artistic outlook, and also perfectly interpreted the deep meaning of the theme of the exhibition "integration".

"The seven artists have brought us different visual perceptions, which are also different artists' reflections on contemporary society. Ji Shaofeng, vice president of the China Sculpture Society and director of the Hubei Provincial Art Museum, delivered a speech and announced the opening, saying that the Tanghu Art Museum has participated in the radical art development trend with its own unique concept and characteristics, and has made unique contributions to the prosperity and development of regional culture through unremitting efforts.

Before the opening ceremony, a dialogue session on "Fusion: Seven Contemporary Art Artists" was held in the atrium of Tanghu Art Museum. The dialogue was hosted by Ji Shaofeng, vice president of the China Sculpture Society and director of the Hubei Museum of Art, and the participating artists Liao Changyou, Zhou Zuyin, Shu Cong, Liao Lan, Yang Wei and Guo Xiaojing participated in the dialogue. Based on their own creative experiences, the panelists shared their artistic practices in exploring the path of integration in the dilemma of artistic convergence. The atmosphere was warm, and the guests gave detailed answers to the questions raised by the audience.
