On the most beautiful April day in the world, the azaleas come in the bright spring light. Recently, the rhododendron, known as the "Bloom of Flowers", bloomed gorgeously in Qingshan Park. On April 12, the 13th Azalea Festival in Castle Peak Park opened. There are more than 70 varieties of rhododendrons on display at this event, with a total of more than 100,000 plants, covering an area of 40,000 square meters. Aoyama Park is also currently the largest free viewing spot for azaleas in the city.
Aoyama Park has won the title of "10,000 Rhododendron Garden" for its rich varieties of rhododendrons and the largest planting scale, and the five major types of rhododendrons of Dongjuan, Maojuan, Xiajuan, Xijuan and Yingshanhong gather in the park, which is unique in the park in the city. Coupled with the winding and smooth garden road, the simple and elegant pavilions and water pavilions, rockeries and stacked waters, and winding lotus ponds, the azaleas here appear more delicate and handsome. At present, in the Zigui Crying Red Scenic Area in the park, most of the rhododendrons on both sides of the flower path are still budding, and in a few days, there will be a cluster of flowers, one by one, and the beautiful scenery of thousands of flowers.
The biggest difference between this rhododendron festival and previous years is that the boutique rhododendron garden opened a few days in advance, and more than 20 kinds of rare rhododendrons in the city feasted the eyes of citizens and tourists. One of the rare varieties of Oriental azaleas, the "flamingo" rhododendron, has the dazzling color of Chinese red, and the stamens have a bronze metal texture, which looks like a group of flames that are burning warmly from a distance; the lilac "big green lotus" rhododendron in full bloom has a magnificent flower, showing a romantic and gentle temperament; the crimson five-pointed star-shaped rhododendron is the "Labor Medal", which is small and gorgeous; the rhododendron inlaid with red lace is the "phoenix crown", which is unique and exquisite; the crimson azalea "red crown", the red double-petaled azalea "princess", and the single-petaled dark pink azalea "Fan bands" are all azaleas that bloom in three seasons a year. In addition, the native rhododendron "Honeysuckle", which is more than one person tall, has lilac petals, long stamens, and a gentle and lovely appearance, which is rare in urban parks.
The best time to see this year's rhododendron festival is around April 13, and this flower show will last until April 25. During the period, there will also be activities such as park classes and research studies.
The park warmly reminds all visitors that yellow rhododendrons and white-haired rhododendrons are poisonous and should not be in close contact.
