Since the launch of the elderly cognitive impairment-friendly community construction service project in April last year, Xinqiao Town has adhered to the principle of prevention, actively linked resources, formed teams, built platforms, improved the guarantee mechanism, and formed a full-chain service model covering community publicity, early screening, community prevention, family support, and professional intervention, and has won a good reputation and service results.
At the beginning of the construction of the project, the team recruited extensively in the community and set up a special volunteer team composed of 115 people, and at the same time, actively linked social resources and built friendly buildings with 10 caring units, providing a strong human resources and caring support network.
Combined with the characteristics of the community and the needs of the service recipients, the project has built a support center for the elderly with the theme of "Time Café", which is equipped with a coffee bar, a gardening and education area, a music salon room, a game therapy room, a case consultation room, a group activity room, a fitness trail and other functional areas, which can meet the intervention and treatment programs of various themes and create a convenient and warm memory home for the elderly.
On the basis of hardware construction, Xinqiao Town pays attention to the "wide coverage" of health education and publicity, and has carried out 30 popular science activities in various communities and centers, serving more than 3,000 people in total. By the end of March, cognitive risk assessment had been carried out for 2,064 people over the age of 60 in the jurisdiction. According to the results of screening, respite services, psychological relief, family support, etc. are carried out for different service recipients, and the elderly are helped to solve practical problems based on their needs.
In addition, Xinqiao Town also invited professional doctors to conduct a second screening for high-risk elderly people. Through traditional Chinese medicine incense, physiotherapy and massage, targeted interventions are carried out for the elderly with sleep disorders.
In the future, Xinqiao Town will further expand the publicity coverage, build a service system for the construction of a dementia-friendly community for the elderly, provide long-term support services for community residents, and create a good social atmosphere of concern, care and care for the elderly with cognitive impairment and their families.
