On April 7, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. successfully signed and delivered the No. 5 ship of the 2900TEU container series built for East Pacific Shipping Company (EPS). Gao Dengpan, Deputy General Manager of Fujian Shipping Administration, and Mr. Sergey Rogov, representative of EPS, signed the delivery documents. Lin Qin, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Xiamen Shipbuilding Heavy Industry, Wang Nenghua, Member of the Party Committee and General Manager, and other members of the leadership team, representatives of the American Bureau of Shipping and relevant leaders attended and witnessed the ceremony.
The ship is a second-generation Chittagong green, energy-saving and environmentally friendly container ship newly developed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI). The length of the ship is 185.99 meters, the beam is 35.20 meters, the depth is 17.20 meters, the draft is 11.00 meters when fully loaded, and the deadweight is about 36,380 tons.
Up to now, more than half of the 2900TEU container series ships built by Fujian Shipbuilding for East Pacific Shipping Company have been delivered, and the construction quality of the series of ships has been well received by the shipowner. The smooth delivery of the No. 5 ship of the 2900TEU container series is a strong start for the second quarter of the company, and the company will continue to uphold the concept of providing customers with high-quality services and promote the delivery of subsequent ships in an efficient and orderly manner.
