In this paper, we will focus on the comparison of the anti-Qin politics and respect for Xunxue of scholars in the middle of the Qing Dynasty and the anti-Qin politics and anti-Xunxue of beginners in the Qing Dynasty, and trace the evaluation of Xunzi by Chinese scholars in the past dynasties and the rise and fall of the status of Xunzi and Mencius in the past dynasties. Through this kind of comparison and retrospection, the evolution of China's political thought in the past 200 years, and even the path and misunderstanding of the evolution of academic thought as a whole, can be seen in general.

An important premise for examining the theories of later scholars Qin Zheng and Xun Xue is to review Xunzi's own attitude and stance towards Qin Zheng. Although a large number of scholars since the Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China opposed Qin Zheng and Xunxue at the same time, and regarded the two as the cooperative relationship between "big thieves" and "hometown wishes", as far as Xunzi himself was concerned, he was quite dissatisfied with Qin Zheng. Of course, the person Xunzi entered back then was not the Qin Dynasty after the first emperor unified the six countries, but the Qin State in the era of King Zhaoxiang.

Note: Since the beginning of the Han Dynasty, the evil people who said that Qin politics have been endlessly written and enumerated, and have continued to the Ming and Qing dynasties, and have become the basic consensus of Confucian scholars and doctors in all dynasties. However, the opposition to the concept of Qin Zheng did not begin in the early Han Dynasty, and Xunzi was a representative figure of scholars from the Six Kingdoms criticizing Qin Zheng.

Note: For more than 100 years, a large number of Chinese people have been in the great ideological wave of the times criticizing traditional culture, and few of them have not been affected by Mr. Fusheng's words. However, the criticism of Qin Zheng and Xun Xue at the same time did not begin with the Tan family in Liuyang.

Since Xunzi more than 2,000 years ago had clearly expressed his negative attitude toward Qin Zheng, why did Mr. Tan Fusheng more than 2,000 years later list Qin Zheng and Xunzi as the cooperative relationship between "big thieves" and "hometown wishes" and lash out at them? To discuss this key issue that involves the turning point of modern Chinese academic thought, we must roughly review the scholars' evaluation of Xunzi and the rise and fall of Xunmeng's status in the more than 2,000 years after the Qin and Han dynasties.

Those who want to cut Xun's disagreement are attached to the sage's book, and also Confucius's ambition! Meng's is mellow; Xun and Yang, big mellow but small flaws.

The Tao is in the study of Yang, Mo, Lao, Zhuang, and Buddhism, and the way of the sage who desires, and the way of the sage is still in the hope of the sea. Therefore, the way to seek the contemplation of the sage must start with Mencius.

Zhao Yi's "Chenyu Cong Kao" Volume 4 "Respect for Mencius" Tiaoyun:

If the value is not the first emperor and the second, the art of Si will not come out of this, not for benevolence, but also for the time.

And there are those who are taught for good, and those who are not taught for evil. Xun Qing recounted the ancestors of the king and praised the Confucian effect, although there were gains and losses, and generally had to govern the world. Those who practiced their studies and harmed Qin were also Shang Ying, and those who gave up their studies and harmed Qin were also Li Si.
