With a collection of 8 million cultural relics, the British Museum was built in 1823 and systematically displays the essence of cultural relics from major civilizations in the world, such as Egypt, Greece and Rome, Central Asia, West Asia, India, China and so on. Oriental artefacts, especially Chinese antiquities, have become the focus of the British Museum.

The British Museum contains more than 100,000 items from the Greek Bronze Age to the time of the Roman Emperor Constantine I. In addition to vessels, jewelry, scrolls, glass, coins, bronzes, silver, and pottery from various periods, the Museum of Ancient Greece and Rome also relies on stone buildings and stone carvings from ancient Greece.

The Greek Museum has a collection of Parthenon sculptures, also known as Elgin marbles, which are part of the carvings and architectural remnants of the Parthenon in ancient Greece and are more than 2,500 years old. There is also the famous "Nereides Monument", which comes from Santhos in southwestern Turkey in the 4th century. The sculpture of the "Three Goddesses of Fate" is also the centerpiece of the Greek Pavilion, originally located on the east pediment of the Parthenon.

The Oriental Art Museum displays more than 100,000 pieces of cultural relics from China, Japan, India and other Southeast Asian countries.
