China's solid-state battery mass production, officially loaded!

The new energy vehicles on the market, whether they are independent brands, Japanese brands, or German brands, are ternary lithium batteries or lithium iron phosphate batteries, and BYD blade batteries are also lithium iron phosphate batteries in principle.

There is such a voice on the Internet, that is, the general development direction of electric vehicles in the future must be solid-state batteries! Therefore, there is such a message circulating in the market: Japanese cars that have returned to their senses have begun to exert their strength in solid-state batteries! For example, Toyota and Nissan have basically formed solid-state batteries in the laboratory, and they can be put into mass production of new cars on a large scale only by reducing costs in the future, which is expected to be before 2030.

Because the advantages of solid-state batteries are too obvious, fast charging speed, high energy density, and long endurance, they can not only achieve long-term battery life, but also improve the excellent discharge power of the new car in a short time, so that the new car has an extremely high performance side. More critically, solid-state batteries are less costly, less reliant on rare metals, and can also extend battery life. Suffice it to say, one of the biggest tracks in the past two years has been solid-state batteries.

But what I didn't expect was that independent brands have taken the lead in mass production of solid-state batteries. Of course, this mass production belongs to semi-solid-state batteries, which only have half the attributes of solid-state batteries, but it is also a very big breakthrough. This car company is Zhiji. The first new car equipped with this battery is called the Zhiji L6, which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this year and is a production car.

Incredibly, this Zhiji L6 can achieve 100 in 2 seconds, this is a dual-motor mid-level car, it is logically impossible to have such excellent acceleration, and the cruising range is expected to exceed 1000km. As a pure electric model, it does not rely on the engine, why can it have such fast acceleration and at the same time have a pretty good range performance?

According to Liu Tao, a senior executive of Zhiji, the production car Zhiji L6 will be the first to be equipped with a new solid-state battery. Of course, the solid-state battery here is actually in double quotation marks, because it is a semi-solid-state battery.

First of all, the power performance of this Zhiji L6 has become stronger, with a range of more than 1000km, and it also comes from the 900V fast charging platform architecture, and the charging speed has been greatly improved. According to the executive, it is possible to obtain a replenishment speed of almost 1,000 kilometers in a very short time. If there is such a fast charging speed in the actual charging process, this should be a major breakthrough in the history of China's electric vehicles. In addition, the new semi-solid-state battery is extremely safe, essentially eliminating the risk of spontaneous combustion of the battery.

Although semi-solid-state batteries still have a long way to go from real solid-state batteries, I think this is a very big breakthrough for our own brands, and it can even be called a qualitative change from 0-1.

When the mileage, charging speed, and safety are completely solved, it is believed that the development trend of electric vehicles will accelerate again.
