"Deathly silent", the largest hospital in southern Gaza is empty

UNICEF released a video on 19 March.

James Elder, a spokesman for the group, said in a video that he had returned to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

Nasser Hospital, once the largest hospital in the southern Gaza Strip, is now completely closed and empty.

Where have the people gone?

Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours have killed 104 people and wounded 162. Since the outbreak of a new round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October last year, Israel's military operations in the Gaza Strip have killed more than 31,900 people and injured nearly 74,000#加沙# #巴勒斯坦#

In the face of a large-scale genocide of this magnitude, human reason seems helpless, and in the name of God, the Israeli authorities are exterminating the Palestinians as humanoid beasts and challenging the bottom line of humanity.

UNICEF spokesperson James Elder: The last time I was in this hospital, thousands of people had taken refuge here, and now look at this place. At that time, the medical staff here were working 36-hour shifts, and the amazing medical staff were running to provide medical care to every child who was injured in the war and needed medical attention. I saw so many children suffering trauma, burns, and bandages on their tiny arms and legs. Their families leaned over to look at them, pain and hope in their eyes. Now, this has become like this, and the hospital corridors are filled with deathly silence. There are no more doctors here who can perform their duties. Children are no longer able to get medical care here.

According to the health authorities in the Gaza Strip, Israeli forces stormed Nasser hospital on February 15 this year, causing a number of wounded patients to die of lack of oxygen due to ventilator power outages. After a week-long attack by Israeli forces, Nasser Hospital ceased operations altogether.
