On the South China Sea issue, the Philippines knows that confronting China is tantamount to hitting a stone with an egg, and it is not China's opponent at all. Therefore, the insidious and cunning Philippines has resorted to a sinister trick: pulling in five countries, namely the United States, Germany, Canada, Japan and Vietnam, in an attempt to build a united front against China.
Among these five countries, except for Vietnam and China, which have territorial disputes in the South China Sea, and Japan and China have disputes over the sovereignty of the Diaoyu Islands, the other three countries have no disputes with China on territorial and maritime issues. As for the South China Sea, it has no involvement with China in the slightest, and it is purely a relationship that cannot be fought by eight poles.
However, the United States, Germany, Canada, and Japan need to contain China's development, and the Philippines and Vietnam need to illegally and permanently occupy islands and reefs in the South China Sea. The United States, Germany, Canada, and Japan see the Philippines as a lever to contain China's development, and the Philippines sees them as a backer. With the coaxing in Vietnam, it is nothing more than wanting to fish in troubled waters and take the opportunity to make some oil and water.
Let's start with the United States
At present, the United States has two levers to contain and suppress China, one is the Taiwan issue, and the other is the South China Sea issue. On the South China Sea issue, the United States does not actually have any reason to intervene, but the United States has the Philippines as a pawn.
Using the Philippines, the United States has been making small moves on the South China Sea issue. First, it added military bases and deployed weapons in the Philippines, and then instigated the Philippines to repeatedly send supplies to the "shelved" broken warships on Ren'ai Jiao to challenge China's bottom line. Moreover, it is necessary to make wanton accusations against China in terms of public opinion.
Not only that, but the United States also uses the "US-Philippines Mutual Defense Treaty" to conduct joint military exercises with the Philippines from time to time to brazenly scare and threaten China. Their purpose is very clear, that is, they want to make a big deal and take the opportunity to drag China into the quagmire of war.

Since its defeat in World War II, Japan has basically completely become a minion of the United States. To use an image analogy, the relationship between Japan and the United States is like the "Roaring Dog" and "Erlang God Yang Jian" in the mythological story.
Japan's disgraceful behavior in the South China Sea is no less than that of the United States, and even more so since Fumio Kishida came to power, Japan has reached a series of military cooperation projects with the Philippines, not only providing the Philippines with large ships and radar and other equipment, but also seeking to station troops in the Philippines.
Japan's purpose in doing so is also clear: to use the South China Sea to contain China's maritime military power and seek a breakthrough in the dispute over the Diaoyu Islands. Of course, China's layout on the Diaoyu Islands issue will not allow Japan's plot to succeed at all, and Japan is simply painstaking.
Let's move on to Germany and Canada
Germany's "cooperation" with the Philippines on the South China Sea issue is in fact purely a relationship of interest, and Germany regards the Philippines as an important partner in its strategic and economic cooperation with ASEAN countries, mainly to enhance Germany's presence in the "Indo-Pacific region".
As for Canada, the neighbor of the United States is basically playing the same role as Japan. As long as the United States advocates something in the world, Canada basically participates in it. When the Philippines rallied other countries to organize a united front in the South China Sea, the United States participated, and Canada was naturally indispensable.
In short, Germany and Canada are in collusion with the Philippines in pointing fingers at the South China Sea issue, which has nothing to do with them, in essence, in order to cooperate with the so-called "Indo-Pacific strategy" of the United States. In other words, it is to stand up for the United States and to wave the flag for the United States.
Finally, Vietnam
Vietnam is actually the country that we in China should be most wary of in the South China Sea. On the one hand, they have quietly carried out large-scale expansion of the illegally occupied islands and reefs in the South China Sea, and on the other hand, they have acted as a wall-to-wall grass in an attempt to find a balance in the overall situation of the Sino-US contest and thus maximize their own interests.
For example, in 2023, Vietnam upgraded its relations with the United States to the highest level of "comprehensive strategic partnership", and then upgraded China-Vietnam relations to a "strategically significant China-Vietnam community with a shared future".
In short, no matter how the Philippines plays tricks on the South China Sea issue, China has enough wisdom and strength to respond to all kinds of provocative actions that erode China's rights and claims in the South China Sea. As long as the determination of the Chinese people to defend the sovereignty of the motherland's territory and territorial waters remains unchanged, any intervention by external forces is doomed to be futile. When necessary, China will definitely show its sword, and the chaos in the South China Sea will surely subside.
