Before I walked out of the gate of the scenic spot, I met a Tibetan female driver, it turned out that she was still a staff member of the scenic spot, and her name was Gesang Yangzong. It reminds me of the Gesang flowers that are all over the mountains in Tibet.

Gesang rented an oxygen concentrator at the visitor center and drove to the tourists after work, and I praised Gesang for working two jobs, which is really capable! Gesang said that she worked three jobs and had to help out at the restaurant at night. She said that you go back to the hotel to rest, and if you are not tired, you can go to taste the Tibetan hot pot in their restaurant, even if you don't eat and go to sit.
After a short break, I decided to take a look at a tourist reception service center that integrates catering, homestays, and entertainment. This is the house of Gesang's parents, who have cooperated with outside investors to run it and have become a well-known tourist service point in the local area.
I couldn't eat a hot pot by myself, so Gesang led me to their living room -- it was so luxurious! Gesang was going to work in the back kitchen, so she asked her father and cousin to accompany me, and the host enthusiastically brought out Tibetan food such as glutinous rice cakes, butter tea, and barley wine.
I not only learned about the local customs, but also about the difficult life in Gesang: her husband left early, she brought two children, a 13-year-old daughter, a 10-year-old son, and an 84-year-old mother-in-law. However, the burden of life did not overwhelm this single mother, and in the activity of "garbage sorting starts from the baby", this excellent parent also gave her son a thumbs up.
Gesang is a very capable Tibetan woman, she is also the director of the village women's federation and the village doctor, and she often works with village cadres to investigate potential safety hazards in the village, such as cleaning up weeds around substation equipment and conducting emergency drills for flood prevention and disaster reduction.
It's cold, and the scenic spot has entered the off-season, and Gesang can't work three jobs. However, local products such as matsutake mushrooms and cordyceps can be sold all year round, and Kinabalu always favors these simple, hardworking and kind mountain people.
The Gesang flower is a symbol of Tibetan culture. The hardships of life have not wiped out the vision and love of Gesang Yangzong for a better life, and she and her little sisters will always wear beautiful Tibetan costumes, sing and dance every festival, just like the Gesang flowers all over the mountains on the plateau, life is tenacious and gorgeous.
