On January 14, in Liege, Belgium, the students of the Praying Mantis Martial Arts Hall practiced dragon dance.

Founded in 1988 by a Belgian who loves Chinese martial arts, the Belgian Mantis Martial Arts Gym has more than 100 students. Every year during the Spring Festival, it is the busiest time for the martial arts hall, because there is a dragon and lion dance team that has been inherited for 27 years.

Seydrick is an employee of the Belgian railway system and is now the head of the Mantis Martial Arts Gym. Many years ago, when he participated in a competition in France on behalf of the Mantis Martial Arts Gym, Sedrick and his friends first came into contact with the dragon and lion dance, and were deeply fascinated by this traditional Chinese culture. Since then, they have been learning dragon and lion dances in an effort to improve their skills.

"The movements of the dragon and lion dances are actually transformed from martial arts, and it is these martial arts movements that make the lions and dragons more vivid. In order to better learn the dragon and lion dance, Sedrick and the students of the martial arts hall visited China many times to learn traditional Chinese martial arts and culture, achieved the refinement of skills, gained friendship, brotherhood, and better understood the meaning of the dragon and lion dance, which Sedrick summarized in four words: culture, respect, unity and tradition.

Sedrick said that he and his dragon and lion dance team are now often invited to participate in various cultural events in Belgium, and they hope to show the dragon and lion dance to the locals through their own efforts, so that this traditional Chinese culture can be continued and inherited in Belgium.
