Two HIV-positive patients, not informed in advance! This job is a pity to be abandoned because of the tastelessness of food

author:Nurse Zi Lan'er

Hygiene before the Chinese New Year seems to be our traditional virtue! I just looked at the nurse group and saw the pictures of hygiene sent by my colleagues before the Chinese New Year.

Each room of the department has a special person in charge, and every instrument and equipment has a special person in charge. Responsible for the usual inspection, cleaning work, every time there is an inspection or New Year's holiday, responsible for tidying up, inventory. This division of labor is excellent, and colleagues can also manage their own one-third of an acre of land like the protagonist.

I'm in charge of the treatment room, which is an extremely difficult place to manage. Because the treatment room, as the name suggests, is the place where the treatment is done, and all the temporary dispensing and dosing are carried out here.

In the treatment room, there are all kinds of basic medicines, disposable items and sterilized items. The treatment room I'm in charge of isn't just about the cleanliness that I see on the surface. It also includes all the cabinets inside, all the contents of the drawers.

I have to check these medicines regularly, whether they are expired, whether they are short of catties or two, and whether they are of poor quality. This is a big project, all medicines, disposable items should be placed according to the expiration date, different batch numbers are placed separately, left in and right out.

The cabinet for large infusions is at the bottom layer, and every time I check the large infusion, I have to kneel on the ground, cock my buttocks, bow my head, take out the drugs from the cabinet one by one, and then look at the batch number and the expiration date one by one, and then place one bottle at a time according to the order of the expiration date!

The cabinet for disposable items is on the top floor, and I have to go to the ward every time to get a square stool and step on it, and then take out a box by box, a small bag and a small bag to check, look at the batch number, look at the expiration date, and see if there is any damage.

Every time I check these things, I feel like I'm doing a big project! Whoever tells me that something is expired, I won't believe it! Because everything in it passes through my hands and my eyes. You can have a fingerprint identification, and there will definitely be my fingerprints on it.

In fact, sometimes I wonder why there is no special person in charge of this work? I am very busy at work every day, and I can't finish my own work during working hours, so I can only work overtime.

On two occasions this year, I took advantage of my break time to go to the department from home to complete the inspection. Once on New Year's Day, the hospital needed to take inventory of the disposable items in each department and sent a checklist. This table is different from usual, not only the expiration date of the batch number, but also the table this time, you also need to write how much is left, the code of warehousing, the manufacturer, the unit price, the total price and so on. These need to go to the various APPs of the computer to query, one by one.

When I first received the notice, I thought I would only need to work overtime until eight or nine o'clock in the evening. When I started, I was dumbfounded, how could this be done! I worked overtime until half past eight, and then called it a day. The next day, I took advantage of the break time to deal with this matter again!

Someone asked, "Do you count yourself as working overtime?" Will you be given compensatory leave?" You think too much! This is because you have not completed your work, there is no compensatory leave, no overtime pay, no praise, and nothing! If you do not finish the work within the specified time, if you do not do it as required, there will be criticism, and you will like to mention "do it again"!

This is a profession that pays a lot and gains very little! This is a hard-working and not necessarily thankless profession! A colleague often complains, and I say to her, "If you rely on it to support yourself, you hold back, if you don't need to live on it, you fire it." No, this is the reality, you want to work and integrate your interests, it's too difficult! You want to work as you like, it's too difficult! When you don't have the strength to change the environment to cater to yourself, you can only change yourself to adapt to the environment!

There is no small talk in the nurse group, there are always all kinds of work-related problems! the patient's stoma, the patient's plumbing, the patient's skin. I flipped through the photo album of my mobile phone, and it was full of work-related pictures! I often met some patients who concealed their medical history, no, it was only the third day of the Lunar New Year, and there were already two HIV-positive patients in the department, and they didn't inform us in advance! Alas

In 2024, may we all do what we want to do and get our wishes!
