Notre-Dame Cathedral is known for its spectacular architectural features, including its twin towers, exquisite portico, magnificent rose windows, and a variety of sculptures and gargoyles. Located on the banks of the Seine, this cathedral is one of the most famous churches in the world.

On April 15, 2019, a fire caused serious damage to the roof and wooden structure of Notre-Dame, but despite this, the main structure of the church and many precious works of art and artifacts have been preserved. The emblematic building is expected to reopen in December 2024, while LEGO sets will also be available to the public on June 1.

Choosing a cathedral as the theme for the 2024 LEGO Buildings collection may come as a surprise at first glance, as no church has been made specifically for LEGO sets in the past 65 years. Although previous models have included some religious landmarks, such as the LEGO 21056 Taj Mahal, which has been recreated many times, Notre-Dame has undoubtedly brought a fresh element to the LEGO building collection and may pave the way for the development of more church models in the future.
