  On April 13, the first anniversary of the opening of the international passenger train of the China-Laos Railway, a total of 700,000 passengers have been sent in the past year, including more than 180,000 cross-border passengers covering 87 countries and regions, and the punctuality rate of trains has reached 100% and 99% of the trains. Over the past year, the international passenger trains of the China-Laos Railway have provided safe, convenient, warm and comfortable cross-border transportation services for international passengers, which is of great significance for facilitating the travel of people along the line, promoting the development of tourism and other industries between the two countries, and promoting personnel exchanges and economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

  As a leading project between China and Indochina Peninsula countries to promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and promote connectivity, the China-Laos Railway is the first modern railway in Laos and an important link connecting countries in the region. The international passenger train of the China-Laos Railway adopts the operation mode of morning and evening, and stops at 8 stations in Kunming, Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province and Luang Prabang and Vientiane in Laos, with a maximum running speed of 160 kilometers.

  Optimize the train operation plan, improve the efficiency of transportation capacity, strengthen the monitoring and control of the whole operation, and strengthen safety and security measures...... Over the past year, the railway authorities of China and Laos have continuously improved the operation quality of international passenger trains, and the occupancy rate of international passenger trains has remained at a high level, with the highest occupancy rate reaching 100% in a single day, which has greatly facilitated international passengers to visit cultural monuments and natural scenic spots along the line, achieved steady growth in cross-border passenger flow, stimulated new consumption momentum, and injected new vitality into the economic and social development along the line.

  Since the beginning of this year, the number of cross-border passenger seats for international passenger trains on the China-Laos Railway has been increased from 300 to 350, and two stops have been added, Yuxi, Yunnan, China, and Muang Sai, Laos, with the same running time, further expanding the scope of services. From April 13, the railway departments of China and Laos will open an additional pair of international passenger trains between Xishuangbanna and Luang Prabang, two famous tourist cities, so that passengers can travel between the two places on the same day by train.

Thongloun, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, said that the completion and smooth operation of the Laos-China Railway has greatly promoted the economic development of Laos and brought positive changes to the lives of the Lao people. Song Shawan, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, said that the Laos-China Railway is a flagship project of Laos-China strategic cooperation in the new era, and Laos is willing to cooperate with China to make good use of this golden corridor to provide more convenience and opportunities for Laos-China personnel exchanges and economic and trade cooperation, and also make greater contributions to improving the level of connectivity in the region and driving economic and social development along the route.
